Re: Coronavirus

Yes. It's bollocks. Unless it's in the law there's little anyone can do.

Re: One of the weirdest evenings i've ever had

My excellent 3 point post goes unanswered. Until that's addressed there's no point in continuing this thread.

@Matty please lock it.

Re: Coronavirus

It's just the whole idea that anyone can define 'essential'. You frivolous might be my essential and vice-versa. If I were self employed and my ability to earn money and survive meant that I needed to buy a new widget from Tesco, who happened to have it in stock, then what business is it of the gove...

Re: Coronavirus

But what does the law actually say? I remember an over zealous copper trying this line on Twitter at the first lockdown and many people, including Secret Barrister, pointing out it's not down to the law to dictate what people can and cannot buy. If a shop is allowed to open then people are free to b...

Re: One of the weirdest evenings i've ever had

1. Is it definitely the same car? Try and find them on FriendFace and see if they've an RCZ of their own and the plates have been swapped over. 2. Or maybe some part on their's broke and they want to swap it for a bit on yours for free. 3. Also, have a look at the mileage on it to see if it really c...

Re: One of the weirdest evenings i've ever had

Theres probably some distance selling law on their side. Nobbers. No there isn't. It's a private sale. If Dan didn't knowingly misrepresent the car then it's done and dusted. Oh BTW, the 'it broke down on the way home' BS is a classic scam. Boatshoes is littered with similar stories. Tell them they...

Re: Coronavirus

I see the Welsh leaders have told Supermarkets to sell 'essential items only'. WTF? Who is going to define what's 'essential' and WTF difference does it make if you're at the supermarket for your shopping anyway then buying some non-essential stuff makes no difference to anyone. Like that dickhead i...

Great stuff. I guess I'll be 2 days behind you. PS - mine are either going on the 'bay or to the wife, and I'll use the proceeds to pick up some Sony XM4's. ...And 'claim validated' came in over night. Winning! Also my Spigen Thin Fit arrived. It's a bit different to the Thin Fit I had on my 3a XL ...

Re: Pixel 5

Not heard anything yet about these headphones BTW It's been over 2x working days now (even in the US) I wonder if you get a 'sorry' if you don't get any, or just don't hear anything...? You said yours has been 'accepted' on the last page, but mine is still on 'claim received' on the tracking page.....

Re: People are odd aren't they?

In all seriousness, in my first house I was neighbour to a miserly older couple. That boundary was their's to maintain and a couple of the fence panels were falling down. The only way I could get it sorted in the end was to source, paint and fit new panels myself on the promise that they'd pay for t...

Re: People are odd aren't they?

Adding to this thread, I’ve lived in my house for 15 years. The week I moved In in 2005 next door said to me he’ll fix the fence as approx 60% was missing. I spent 2 years doing the place up adding a single storey extension double drive etc, still no fence repairs. We would speak in the street and ...

Re: New Top Gear

I found the episode so boring. I even fast forwarded through some bits. Urus is foul. RS6 is dull. Smashing up cars for the sake of it is pointless. I can't shake the feeling that Flintoff just comes across as a bit of a bully and a thug.

Hopefully it's better next week.
