Re: Driving in London

I explicitly avoid driving through bradford unless I absolutely need to, it's the only place I've ever had someone get out of their car and hurl abuse at me for using correct lane discipline because it fucked up their attempt at cutting someone else up. M135i in Bradford? Surely that just gets a fu...

Re: Driving in London

Most city centres are like this now. Masses of traffic lights and road restrictions have made people short tempered and impatient so they're pulling off riskier moves.

I'm lucky enough to live out on the sticks, but not convinced things are any better, just different annoyances

Re: Decent Recent TV

S2 of Arcane finished last weekend, and it's one of the best things I've seen on TV. While S1 was a solid 10/10, this season got a bit messier and lacked a bit of coherancy. Despite that, it continued with astonishing animation, with impeccible VA work and brilliant characters. Ella Purnells (Fallo...

Re: Decent Recent TV

Finally got around to Three Body Problem . Pretty good but fuck me they chose a proper dull moment to end the season on. I might have to dig into the books, sounds like they're a bit less condensed (which is fair enough when trying to make a TV series) and more verbose about the sociology of it. Re...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Mazda dropped off at the dealership for fitting the alcantara interior today. Alcantara is so much nicer than leather - much more comfortable on severe weather (very hot/cold days) and looks much better with the contrast. The MY23+ QV has gone full leather seats from half/half and it looks like a b...

When I initially scrolled past this quickly on my phone (with the captions partially covering the face) I thought, bloody hell, Gavster getting his face on everything these days.

Re: Decent car YouTubes

Those S660's look great - as things get more and more crowded with everyone driving 2m wide cars (who absolutely can't judge the width, so leave 1m gaps when maneuvering) they seem to make more and more sense for blatting around town.

Can you come a bit further West? Getting to the East side from the Midlands is a nightmare

Depending on where it is, I'd like to try and make it.

Re: Your fleet running reports

QV hasn't been used for a while, what with the snow and all, but keeping it on a CTEK meant no issues starting it up yesterday. One great thing about having a second car is enjoying the swap back and forth, especially as if they're very different. I always forget how brutally quick it can be, even ...

Re: Ukraine

The commanders on the ground (that have survived!) will probably be a strategic match for anyone we've got in terms of modern warfare. I'd say there's no substitute for experience and having to evolve to stay alive. The problem is that even if that is true, they don’t have any soldiers. They’re con...

I guess both parties know that come January they're going to be forced to come to the negotiating table, so they're going to be throwing everything at each other until then to strengthen their respective negotiating positions. Unfortunately for Ukraine it seems like Russia are gaining the upper han...

mik wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 3:33 pm Same. But you won't get the choice of many for £35k. Prices have really lifted since Lotus stopped making Elise/Exige and have nothing in their current lineup that comes close to replacing them.
Also, where have all the Evora Sports Racers gone? Hens teeth.

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition

So a hijack, while we're talking all things Lotus.

For £35k, for primarily road use, would you go for a nice, later spec Elise Sport 220 or a slightly earlier V6 Exige? Not for me, my money's tied up.
