Re: Today’s want

I like it but at £29k it’s not very appealing. I prefer the Rotrex route, only up to 300bhp but DIY friendly and looks OEM+

+the cost of a decent base car. Plenty around for £5k (NB) but not sure if they're good enough for the work. Personally I'd struggle to justify £40k for an MX5, but I can ...

Just like Dunc's old car...although can't remember if his was N/A or S. Either way, that's a great shout.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've never tended to flip cars quickly, but I’ve never held on to any other vehicle for anything like this length of time. I’m not really sure if that is testament to the Evora’s many virtues, or a reflection of the fact that - whilst there are many other cars out there which carry appeal - there ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The Up passed it's MOT - apparently flying colours, but in reality, it's colours are soiled due to a minor for rear bushes.

I've had mixed experiences with autodoc. Exceptional range of parts, but usually quite slow to arrive.

By far my fave is Carparts in Motion via ebay:

This was the closest thread I could find...

Seen this recent news about a fella winning 3 competitions on the bounce with Dream Car Giveaways? Apparently won a house, and 2 cars. Even at max tickets purchased, this seems absurd.

Edit - 1 in 700million to win all 3.

DCG have apparently referred ...

Re: Decent Recent TV

The Boys season 5 ended on a damp squib

Other than some absurdist violence, it just felt formulaic, and more of a traditional superhero show. Soldier Boy was wasted and may as well have not been there other than some quippy lines.

Re: Weekend toy £25k

Age, height, weight - all are a factor for ease of entry in an Elise. If you're old, tall and chonky then there's no graceful way unfortunately  you do eventually get the knack of doing it eventually. Alternatively, just only use it when the weathers nice and always keep the roof off.

Anyway ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I had some moaning rear brakes on the van and a look showed some big lips on the edges of the discs (i only had an MOT last month and no mention).

i ordered some new brembo discs from euro carparts (i already had some pads) for £75 each and got a nice 30% discount (so i ordered some £115 front ...

Rumoured to be also on NOS. Throw the bellend in prison for a few months, kids look up to him so the message needs to be clear.

Re: Weekend toy £25k

Probably just me, but I bulk at the idea of spending £800 a year on road tax for a second car.

I could probably justify if I was buying a single, all-rounder, but paying £1500/year for tax and insurance for a car that's only for weekends before you get to fuel and servicing rubs me the wrong way ...

Currently in Saunderfoot, plenty of metal at the seafront. Loud R8, some highly modified Mustang, and about 3 Cayman GT4s

Undoubtedly my favourite, albeit back in Telford, was a green Vauxhall Maloo! Library picture but same type....thundering along.

Kudos to whoever cleaned @MikeHunt's car, that is some shine 8-)

Re: S1 Lotus Elise

I'm friends (friend!) with Dave, the owner of that yellow one on Facebook. Not sure why, I don't think I know him at all! Either way, it looks mint. He's a serial Lotus owner and appears to look after his stuff well, so no doubt it's a good car.

Problem is, if you're buying with future values in ...

This was a good watch and reaffirms just how financially ruinous these old performance cars can be. Especially when German.

But I was amazed at Audi's dire parts support for these older cars. Barely anything available for a car less than 20 years old!

Apparently this is a bit of an Audi ...

Re: S1 Lotus Elise

Is the primary factor the value/depreciation? Rather that which you'd prefer?

Pretty much all Elises are depreciation proof at the moment, so just buy whichever you'd like in your garage. If you're looking to ask which ones will be the most desirable, and therefore (potentially) the most likely to ...
