Re: EV Thread

@Matty We have a work discount on Pod Drive Solo 3S and I'm thinking of taking the plunge but I know very about home charging.

How are you finding it ? What are your Charge Times like ?

I appreciate this is a how long is a piece of string and it depends on what you're charging - how big the ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

£5k ?? Get out.

Fair enough a garage won’t want to fit a random s/h unit from eBay or whatever and will (justifiably) insist on a properly refurbished item because they need to stand by the warranty, but £5k is mental. That must be a whole new gearbox ?

Edit - although this thread seems to ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Looks like a refurbed Mech unit is about 600 (or was, back in 24) plus 3 hours labour.

So about £1500 should be more in-line from a good gearbox specialist. Alas, my old Merc went in for an £800 mechatronic repair, that spiralled into a 2.5k rebuild due to other issues, so not always straight ...

I was going to make a surprise appearance in the Evora to this, as I was in Stourbridge visiting a mate tonight, but couldn't make the times work as I couldn't get out of work early enough to do both.

Worth a visit?

Have you tried joining the the Facebook group and putting up a wanted advert?

Re: Today’s want

I'm a massive fan of the Corrado, I think they look brilliant. It'd have to the VR6, though. Good ones seem to be expensive, so not sure what £8k actually gets you?

I like this green one, alas you'll need to fight it out at auction:

Re: Anyone ever request a plate from DVLA?

EVR 410 could have been put on something that was scrapped or just parked up 50+ years ago and never got a modern V5. DVLA won’t ever release a plate for reuse even if properly disposed of.

I can find barely any plates that start with EVR, like you say I think it was a very old format. DVLA's ...

I initially checked on "SPT 410" until I was reminded it looks more like:

True. They'll email me when it appears.

Re: Anyone ever request a plate from DVLA?

Even at £800, before any other potential bids, it's a bit rich for my liking, and looking at the history for 410XXX plates, they fetch good money.
(Interesting how 410XXX have stronger values that XXX410)

For context, "410 EXG" went for £3850+fees, and they're as equally as rare a bunch. I looked ...

Re: Anyone ever request a plate from DVLA?

I had a reply from DVLA for the plate I requested - apparently "EVR 410" has been issued, but I can't find a record of that anywhere, so I assume someone bought it and just....sat on it. All the plates "XXX 410" are about 300/400, so foolishly hoped that might be similar, and the market small enough ...

Re: Anyone ever request a plate from DVLA?

How do you find out when something isn’t in use (and is also - presumably - not for sale on their website)?

I did an MOT/TAX check to see if it's currently used.
Then checked DVLA for sale
Then finally checked historical sold plates (on the DVLA site)

If it doesn't show up here, it's likely it ...

Re: Anyone ever request a plate from DVLA?

Yeah I've seen the stories about how the bidding can get out of hand - apparently the fees add up as well once the auction ends.

They've put the request in anyway. I did one too as I found something that might be good for mine so we'll see what happens

Re: Today’s want

This is as close to perfect as you can get, IMO.
Only real fly in the ointment is that centre console protrusion. And - while I know it's classic RUF design - I'd prefer something more OEM style for the wheels, although keeping the size/offset to maintain the stance.
