Re: Getting old.

Was a badger alleged to be involved in this incident, or have I misremembered and that's Dom? Separate incident. I LOO'd a 205 into a ditch and blamed it on animal avoidance, and then many years later fessed up that I'd been young, foolish, embarrassed, and there had been no such critter. The folly...

Re: Getting old.

How long can you drive the converted sprinter with your eyes closed? Ages! I've swapped the front bench seats out for two captains chairs with swivels, so it's trivial to walk into the back, climb into the bed and snooze for a bit. A couple of bungies to hold the steering wheel straight and I don't...

Re: Getting old.

At 42, I can sympathise! I had to spend a couple of days under our converted Sprinter about this time last year, adding a hot water & heating system to it. I decided immediately that I needed a decent amount of lift, and a mechanics creeper. Bought a generic creeper on Amazon for £40 or somethin...

Re: SORNing your cars

Blimey - where have you been? I used to find that when I was bored or procrastinating my hands would (completely on autopilot) hit F6 and then c and then enter. That selected my address bar, did all I needed for "community.evo.co.uk/forums" or whatever to autocomplete, and took me there. ...

Re: SORNing your cars

I sorned my van a few days ago. I only really use it for going MTBing, and I'm not going to be doing much of that (short of riding from the door) for the forseeable...

Like some others here, my income has dropped to essentially zero for the time being.

If it were I I'd probably post on pinkbike and singletrackworld, and then ebay if no takers. I don't even know what a C16 R is though :)

Re: Bye Bye, Little Puma/EOTR

TBF, it says "if tampered with", so a full removal MIGHT be ok, so long as your gases are still clear and passing the various tests.

Re: Bye Bye, Little Puma

Aside, I've already had the Mondeo remapped to a subtle, but useful 180-190bhp and 280-300lb/ft - plenty of shove for motorway stuff. I'm sort of tempted to have the DPF and swirl flaps removed, and (if the turbo would be able to use it) a slightly more open exhaust system, but unless it made major...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War SPOILER THREAD!

Essentially I think it's just that superhero films tend to bore me these days. If it's a short film I might give it the benefit of the doubt, but the longer a film in a genre that I'm not mad about is, the less likely I am to give it a try. I do struggle a bit with long films of any genre though, in...

2hr30, too long for a superhero film imho. Logan bored me silly towards the end.

Could it be enjoyed without having seen many of the previous films?

Re: GDPR - anyone here know much about it?

Sometimes the organiser emails the results directly to me and I am in fact their way of displaying the results to the world. More often than not though I just scrape them from their website (or the timing company's website). So yes, I hold the data in my own database. A few million lines of competit...

Re: GDPR - anyone here know much about it?

Looking at https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/legitimate-interests/when-can-we-rely-on-legitimate-interests/, I feel that I'd like to qualify under this: When might legitimate interests be appropriate? Legitimate interests is the most flexible o...

GDPR - anyone here know much about it?

As I think some of you know already, I develop, run and maintain a website that I came up with a few years ago. Essentially I collate data from event organisers around the world, and put them all together. This means if Joe Bloggs has done 7 events that I have on the site, you can click onto his nam...

Re: Forum Roll Call BUT pictures rather than words

My wife's new car: https://i.imgur.com/Z5z0ByY_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium We both loved the M240i but with a 9-month old black lab in the family now it was far from ideal. Neither of us are big 1-series or 3-series fans, so jumping over to Audi for a car she's always like...

I prefer to have control over where links open anyway.

Ctrl + click on Windows if you want a new tab. Long press on mobile for the options to come up if you want a new tab.
