The only thing that may save me is that the interior is vaginal in colour.

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

I've never been terribly fussed about parts sharing in other cars, although I know it bugs some people.

I like his point about the instruments being like a watch face. It's spot on.

I just had a glass of red wine and I'm on autotrader again....

...while the handling is more sports car. That bit really caught my attention here, especially knowing you have Boxster experience, as I've always thought the Aston feels quite big & heavy compared to my 996. I'm far more confident throwing the Porsche around. Not knocking the Aston though. For...

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

I followed this guys thread on PH for a while. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=2010189 The spacers and slightly lowered ride height make for subtle but really nice improvement to the overall look. Those seats as well 8-) Thanks for the link. The other interesting mo...

Mrs Newt: what’s the latest on the Ian situation?
Me: well they met and he said it didn’t go well.
Mrs: Did he give any more detail?
Me: Not sure, the thread has deteriorated into talking about lube.

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

From memory these are absolutely transformed with a lightweight flywheel. Still not be of the prettiest cars on the road. Dave! Yeah, it seems like a common upgrade is a dual plate clutch with the lightened flywheel… just £3000 for you sir. And I did not get tired of looking at it. It’s gorgeous fr...

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

I looked at them briefly...but suprise suprise, the bills can be outrageous. That guy who had a £15k bill on Pistonheads was enough for me. The 4.7 I believe is better if you can stretch. I'd be tempted to sacrifice everything I own for the V12, mind. The 4.7 gets a better write up as having solved...

Re: Woman

@IanF - big :-( but you will get over it. Thank you for your update as I think it tells one all one needs to know. I tried a variety of dating apps. Tinder is a real meat market and I felt a bit dirty after using it because it does just reduce you to thinking "fit" "not fit" &quo...

V8 Vantage hire experience

Pickup was at Perth station before heading over to the West Coast. It’s been about 2 and a half years since I was regularly driving a manuel, so the heavy clutch with high bite point took a bit of time, and a motorway run to the West was probably for the best before I picked up the A77 heading South...

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

That's odd. Are there any specific vegetables that make them worse? Anything else that triggers the joint pains? Is it all joints or just certain joints? And is it joints or more muscle aches? Some veg contain solenins (spelling?) which has a weak link to inflammatory arthritis (in rat work, I don't...

PS if anyone does want an MRI scan then volunteer for one of my studies. Where are you based? We have a mobile MRI that comes to the prison but I don’t think I can ask for a quick scan! Cambridge - and the mobile scanners in trucks aren't sophisticated to do cardiac MR anyway. Although the National...

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

So lots of cholestorol isn’t necessarily bad on its own if the ratio is right ? Not necessarily but less is better than lots, for the reasons mentioned above. Above 9 I would normally start a statin regardless and refer on to a metabolic medicine clinic. And, as I say, take it all in the round with...
