Re: Dangerous beers...
I agree on Atlantic Brewing - would also recommend their Golden Dawn as well as Run Wild (in fact I prefer it).

Oh, here's one - student Irish coffee - heat beer* and add instant coffee.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 4:39 pm Back in student days, one occasion after a big night, and probably still drunk, I decided to have beer on my cornflakes. Not nice. I do not recommend it.

I like the type from the Co-op that comes in a 3 litre box. https://www.coop.co.uk/products/co-op-fairtrade-white-blend-box-3-ltr A lovely South African chardonnay too, very nice. The web page says 30L which certainly should see you through to the weekend. I think I tried that and didn’t like it - ...

Re: The Wine Thread
I joined the Sunday Times Wine club few years back and it's been pretty faultless. There were a few I didn't like in the early days but they refunded the cost of the second bottle (each case is 2x6 bottles). I now only get what I like as part of my subscription and order a few extra cases over the ...

This Perrin and Fils Grenache / Syrah came out of the cellar the other day and it's a banger. Dark fruit with a bit of floral complexity, from reading the reviews it has aged well and is probably doing better than a few years ago.

I can help with the wine too! Just had a delivery today! What is the wine? Also, where's the autotrader link to SJ's Bentley? Not opened the boxes yet, my wife ordered, but they're mixed cases plus a couple of extra favourites. Definitely some Malbec. My case of Lampyres just arrived. I adore their...

I thought you had planned to sell the Bentley prior to buying the RR? 😂 Yeah. And the Cayenne too. I’m not very good at this 😂 When you ask a question already knowing the answer... That would be a great concept - "Let's give Steve a box of wine, load up eBay and an PayPal account with £5...

In terms of my work that is desk based rather than hospital based (hard to do a ward round from home and even if it were possible our IT is so appalling that it's a non starter...) The main benefit I see working from work is breaks and lunches / after work beers with the team. Thinking up future pro...

A strong Jager, a cigarette, casual intercourse with a girl named Helga and then push on the autobahn to Munich. It's the continental way.

I'm a fellow of Churchill college. We have some of old Winston's paintings on display.
They're... well they aren't dreadful. Sort of A-level art standard. Some flowers and a seascape, that sort of thing.
But they are by far and away the most valuable art the college owns. Moreso than the Warhol.

You've also got the Warhammer 40k show coming soon with Caville at the helm. He's a full, hardcore 40k nerd but not only is that show going to need a metric-shit-ton of money to do well, the 40k fanbase are rabid! They'll want him hung via a lamppost if he gets a single bit or lore spelt incorrectl...

Yeah, don’t send an SF team that are deployed for this sort of thing all the time and would probably not kill every man, woman and child on board.. just slice up an entire ship and then miraculously find the (undamaged) item in the 1000 tons of twisted, burning metal. Oh and then it’s unbreakable e...
