Re: Lotus Emira

Porsche have just done Lotus a massive favour by discontinuing the 718 this week.

Heres the Lotus Emira i would have and keep the £12k change.

That's the very model I've had for 5 years, and would probably have re-ordered one if it were possible. I'll keep ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Not my fleet but a friend has just taken delivery of a 2-year old Cayman GTS and is very pleased with it, other than finding it too noisy. He is apparently going to remove the door cards and put some form of sound deadening inside.

I'm skeptical but it's his motor.

I'm currently on a Cayman ...

I bet if you saw one parked next to a late 1960's Elan in Gold Leaf colours you'd know which was the best looking. ;)

Or am I just a nostalgic old person?

Re: New tyre or repair.

Our local ATS did a repair and didn't want to charge, the manager suggesting we just buy 'the lad' a beer. Top blokes. 8-)

Re: Puncture.

The missus has a slow puncture in the left rear of her Abarth 595. A repair is £33 and a new tyre is £133. What does the team recommend?

Re: Cayman 987 S 3.4 or Mazda NC 2.0 Sport Tech or..

I've had two MX5's in the past, and I'm currently on my fourth Cayman, so it's a victory for Porsche. (If you need to convince 'er indoors, you can make out a reasonable case for the Cayman being a sensible 3-door hatchback). ;)

Re: 11 + exam

Well played junior. Linking exams and cars, I remember a speech day at school when I was in my 'O' levels year. A local business man had been invited to address the school and present the prizes. At one point he assured us that doing well in exams was the difference between riding to work on a bike ...

I went out in a mates GT86 back in the day. Recall it feeling quite cheap but was a nice drive.

Worth bearing in mind that you’re all driving much nicer cars than a new £30k car now too.

Like what do we think the average new price for forum cars is now, £70k?

I just read in CAR magazine that the electric Boxster/Cayman models with kick off around the 130k euro mark! This is good news for my savings as I now know I won't be splashing out on another new Porsche. Lots more money for a less interesting product? Don't think so. :?

Width issue?
IMO they are too wide. From memory 120mm wider than my Cayman, which I never think of as small.
