Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

Looks great and very tidy!

I think Porsche (from that era?) is more about intake noise than exhaust noise. Not driven one but been a passenger in a 987 2.7 Boxster..... hearing that distinctive flat-six noise just behind your seat is lovely.

Re: Your fleet running reports

MrA also commented how strongly it pulls towards the 7.2krpm limiter. As std the 350bhp state-of-tune lump in the S1 Evora and early S3 Exige is very strong in the mid-range, but softens perceptibly as it reaches higher rpm. The 2bular manifolds and sports cat really make their strongest impact at ...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

MT07 is a different thing, it's a pretty capable motor. My current "want" is this Tenere700, which uses the same motor. 72hp but plenty for road use. https://www.bennetts.co.uk/-/media/bikesocial/2020-june-images/yamaha-tenere-rally-edition/tenere-rally-(4).ashx?h=494&w=740&la=en&hash=C43DE9C41386A...

Re: Supercar Lust

It’s hard to get excited by cars you only ever see with tacky wraps being driven slowly and revved by bellends driving around London. The first super car I’d by with my theoretical lottery win would be a 30 year old f40... Yep, I remember a time when supercars were driven by classy people and you’d...

Re: Your fleet running reports

In Kent on the local Facebook group there’s 3 detailers charging £45-50 just for an exterior wash and that’s on a small Polo sized car. Add £15 for each size up and £15 more for interior - feck that. There’s a company which do a lot of the cars under my flat, from £150 for a wash but it’s a 2 bucke...

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

Am I mad to consider a 986 S? You’re not, my advice would be to drive both and see which you like. The 986 had a much more old school Porsche cockpit..... +1 I’m totally sold on the 987, but.... Have seen these two today. Under 10K, both had clutches and IMS. FSH. Am I mad to consider a 986 S? Dark...

Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....

I love my 987 S but it’s not getting used much so I’m considering parting with it. It’s a 3.2 (updated IMS bits) They really are a fantastic package. Purchase thread Looks nice! Will go read the thread properly now. What’s the spec, likely price etc if you don’t mind me asking? Just trying to get a...

Doh!
I don’t claim to follow Brazil’s politics but I listen to the excellent broadcaster Tim Vickery, who’s been living in Brazil for many years, on various shows on Talksport, that President is a grade A clown.

Smooth and easy 8-) I had a couple of runs with that car when ScottF owned it. It was not slow. Yep, just the kind of sale you wish for really. Even after I took the decat pipe off for MOT purposes (I should have left it and added a sport cat, but didn't think of it enough before the MOT) it was st...

Such is the progress, back then EVOs had 4500 miles service interval, nowadays Golf Rs are 2yrs / 20000 miles or something like that.

Re: Today’s want

When I was looking at the Corrado in 2009(?), RB5 (and Clio Trophy) were on my shortlist but I didn’t really have the extra funds. I even started a thread on the old forum. They were from £5k then (Trophy from £7k).

Even then rust was a problem.
