Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition

I guess £30k would cover a leggy S1 and a HPE conversion. Is another £5-10k for suspension, brakes and other ‘stuff’ reasonable?

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition

From what I remember from Dan’s conversions, £25k isn’t going to cut it… happy to be wrong :)

Re: Servicing costs.

My local Audi indy charges £170ph… Going to try main dealer tomorrow and enquire about a service pack. They used to be pretty reasonable so I took my old one there right up until I sold it at ten years old. The guy who bought it raved about the history and said he wouldn’t have considered a car with...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I have a phone holder, but the design of the dash means it sits awkwardly (I think) on the A-pillar. I'm honestly less bothered by the nav, but without the car app I'll have to move to turn on the remote heating, check the state of charge, set the charging schedule and so on. My phone’s always on t...

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition

But of course you might find an open Exige V6 tempting: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202405059393120 Like. Re the 190 S2 Exige, is it that hard to supercharge them? Could be some interesting aftermarket options. People do SC the 190, it used to be approx £6k for a Katana but that’s goin...

Something like that with a bit of haggling?
I saw that one too but it’s five years older with 25k more miles for a similar price to the one I posted. Is that one ‘rare’ as per the advert?

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition

My S2 with 120bhp didn’t feel all that fast, especially above 70mph. Therefore, get this

Re: The Evening Standard

As you lot are experts in this, what’s the point of the “I don’t give meta permission” bollocks the celebs are posting g on instagram? Genuine prevention, collective clutching at straws or gearing up for possible future law suits? It sounds like the same bollocks that people used to put on FB. ie: ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer

Newt may be able to confirm or deny, but I believe it used to be rife in the NHS. Pharma companies taking buyers (and to a lesser degree, GPs) on expensed jollies under the guise of conferences, that just happened to be hosted in fancy hotels in exotic locations. Glaxo got fined massively for doing...

Re: Bye bye Starmer

I had to declare gifts from vendors over £50. Then my employer reduced that to £5, which was a bit daft, now it’s back up to £50. Nobody ever declared anything though. It was normally a night of beer and curry and nobody had the mental capacity to tot it all up. I did get offered a box at Wembley fo...
