Re: SOS buttons

I'd be livid yeah. I'm getting rid of the BMW, too many foibles, the servicing is a joke, and I just can't trust it.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

You know the risks etc. I'm happy that this freedom is still available for spectators. That's not to say you'll catch me standing that close, I was hiding behind a dry stone wall when I was there 😆

Re: SOS buttons

A few times by accident. It calls 999. I don't think any of them do that. The BMW ones call a nice lady who asks if you're ok and then does various stuff. She can't help you pick up a 250kg bike down a single track green lane though. And it's annoying when it decides to throw an error cos it...

One reason I'm surprised it's not being talked about more, it affects us as enthusiasts, but a portion of the industry as well. What use is Tesla Plaid/Ioniq5N even, let alone legacy ICE stuff?

Re: Speed Limiters - July '24

I have two issues really yeah, the lazy thinking that no speeding= no crashes, and the systems are actually more dangerous than doing nothing at the moment Lane assist tries to drive me into parked vehicles Speed warning reads signs, badly and often side roads instead of the one you're on. Collision...

Speed Limiters - July '24

I'm surprised there's not more chatter about this, landing in July. Switchable for now, but we know that's just to get folk used to them. https://www.evo.co.uk/news/22326/mandatory-speed-limiters-to-be-fitted-to-all-new-uk-cars-in-2024 Personally it means I'll not buy/lease a car if I can't switch i...

Re: Choose

I'm surprised no-one seems to be interested in experiencing a 170bhp/litre 3.9 V12 that screams to 12,000rpm in a car that weighs around a ton wet. Guess nostalgia is a helluva drug. Oh we do, just not as much as the 6.1 V12 in the F1. The noise from Tiffs TG episode is burned into my pysche. And I...

However, the F1 is just too special to ignore. I'm just the F1 generation. Therefore, that is my choice.

I saw the insta post at the weekend. I'd be livid if that were mine, and I've got the same lid. Cheap they are not.

Nicely done with the IAM thing too 😎

Causing death or serious injury should carry the same penalty regardless of how it happened, but lets face it, I can't see many cyclists falling foul of this.

I'd be willing to bet they're small printed up the wazzoo on these circuits, so if he wins it'll open flood gates for claims no doubt. Potential to ruin the very thing that made him famous/rich.

Re: Decent car YouTubes

And yes, Billy big bollox does have a high opinion of himself but is it a higher self opinion than Lewis' or Max'? It was interesting seeing the effect the different settings between the two cars made, and they weren't that different, many adjustments left to try. It looked and sounded like fun the...

Re: Decent car YouTubes

I’ll forgive you for the EV video Barry, but isn’t that the gimp who thinks he’s faster than Lewis Hamilton but keeps crashing other people’s cars? So I won’t watch his content. I did qualify the post to be fair  And yes, Billy big bollox does have a high opinion of himself, and on this video ...

I prefer being in office for management chats yeah, and most of my team are WFH full time so I just have to manage the less pro active ones a little more than the seniors. Pros and cons, like most things. They're providing lunches twice a week still, an early incentive that they seem happy to prolon...

A year has passed since YK left us. Just thought it worth a note here.

I lost a colleague at work recently too, big C got him after a long time trying to fight it last year. :(
