Re: Harry’s Garage
Nice to see the cars getting used; maybe a few thoughts: - I'm surprised that Harry was surprised that most of the roads in Mallorca don't suit a Countach. It's a small, mountainous island! The Countach is much more an A-road rather than a B-road car (never mind the challenge that his one is RHD). M...

Re: Marcello Gandini
RIP. That's quite a list - I count myself very lucky to have owned some of them, including an inherited BX. As Beany says, pretty much all these designs show a huge and admirable level of commitment - if you look at the squared-off front wheel arch on the BX (and the Rainbow), it's very similar to t...

Re: I have been a voyeur, not a stalker
Welcome! Is the E24 granitsilber? I ask because it looks the same colour as my old E31 (850i). Lovely car (the E24, not the E31 which was an unreliable slug). I hadn't noticed the B pillar treatment before the close-up photo above; it reminds me of the C pillars of the Mercedes 450SLC if you are old...

Re: Decent car YouTubes
My old car. Selling it was the second stupidest thing anyone has ever done (selling the Countach being top of the list).

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
It's not stopping it whatsoever though is it? Probably the opposite. If 250 civilians are killed in a couple of days, why is that if Israel is so careful to tell people to evacuate? They just couldn't be bothered to save their own lives? Sorry, that level of collateral damage is just not acceptable...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
You don’t get to target blocks of flats and places of worship then claim to be on the side of good. Regardless of the version of god you worship. If Hamas are using human shields you come up with something better than blowing them up. Like asking them to evacuate? Do you have a better suggestion yo...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
The BBC is reporting 140 children and 105 women killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza. Are you saying there's been no civilians killed by Israel? I'm not there, but it seems improbable. No, I wasn't saying that; I was asking you to explain your comment that Israel carries out civilian murders (which in...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
What's your basis for saying that Israelis (the government, army or citizens) are happy to murder civilians?

Re: A celebration of well filled arches
Because it's Friday, and because there are no bad Panteras, here is mine: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52680700476_659fa36e49_k.jpg IMG_3577 copy I know the rear arches are slightly too big - I think they have been slightly enlarged. At some point I will invest in 10" rears and 295 (or w...

Re: Top 5 grey German cars ranked
That's the best silver/grey on the thread. Why was it such a bad car? I remember when I first saw one of those at the dealership and it was like something from the future and the past at the same time and looked absolutely incredible. I never got to drive one though.
I bought it fo...

Re: Top 5 grey German cars ranked
This was probably the worst car I ever owned, but I sometimes miss it. I believe the official colour name was "GRANITSILBER METALLIC".

Re: Wheel choice
VAT in Germany is 19% so it looks like the seller has assumed your €700 offer was inclusive of local VAT, and then deducted the VAT as the wheels are being exported. But in practice you will probably have to pay 20% VAT on the €588 (and on the shipping costs) when you import them into the UK.

Re: FECPOTY - 2021 - Get voting...
In response to the tie-break questions: - I have yet to drive a single mile in the Pantera but previous owners have put on at least 50k and I hope to add 5-10% to that every year. Does that count? - Re financial peril, I'm conscious of having said that one of my purchase considerations was that a Pa...

Ooooh - neck and neck. I had assumed that I couldn’t / shouldn’t vote for myself. How naive!

Re: New car thread - old Italian content
Thanks all for the kind words. Taste is very subjective: as mentioned, I prefer the Countach with a wing and flared arches (albeit not the Anniversary) but the original Pantera does it for me. Whereas the original Countach has 215 width tyres (from memory) which look a bit weedy, it's perfectly poss...

New car thread - old Italian content
As some of you may remember, I used to have a couple of old Italian sports cars. They were unreliable, they were very expensive to maintain, but when working properly they were wonderful. So I sold them.. Several years later the love for these cars (dating back to reading Car magazine in the late 19...

Re: Today’s want
That's a very nice and rare colour. At the risk of hijacking the thread, mine is black..I guess I should have started a new car thread, but it isn't home yet. It arrived from the US last month but needed a couple of parts, which are taking ages to arrive - I feel literally like a kid waiting for Xma...
