Re: Viewing a Car - POLL
Even though it doesn’t really make much difference at all addresses I think mine is 1 of about 30 possible houses. If theirs is similar I can see why people are a bit weary. I’ve spoken to a couple of friends who have had some very dodgy buyers of cars and quite intimidating characters trying to sca...

Gus O’Connors pub in Doolin in Clare serves the best pint of Guinness in the world. And that’s a confirmed fact No, an Irish pub in Kampala Uganda did the best pint of Guiness as it sits in the barrels longer when sailing over and warms up while travelling. Also, an Irish pub in Ghana said the same...

I think they have a flash point that is quite low so would probably be a big fire risk.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 2:31 pm Would EV motors not be a better use case for waterless coolant?

Re: Your fleet running reports
It will probably be a mechanical seal, we have them on all our water pumps, oil pumps etc and they work great. The issue is the damage caused and the heat cycles things go through. I know they say electric is great, no need to warm through etc but that is such utter bullshit. They don’t change the l...

I was a member of The Classic Car Club. I hired the following, no mileage limits and I did the most in the 360. Maserati Quattroporte - loved this but it broke down. Ferrari 360 - Lived this more, exploitable and fun, got engaged in it. Karmann Ghia - yeah, looks pretty, dog shit to drive above 30mp...

Re: Parking space widths
It depends how they fail, the brother in laws 330 Cab was perfect till he removed the under seal, then he saw the crack. Whether it really gets bad enough to be felt is another matter. Do they crack with use, age, hitting a kerb too many times etc. Like all things internet , no-one joins a forum to ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
It’s similar to that 1,200,000 mile Model S. It took 4 batteries and 14 motors to get there, pathetic. Prices will come down but when assemblies with minimal parts are used the failure mode is pretty severe. I wonder if parts prices will be kept high due to less consumables and less servicing ? Dave!

Re: Why are road trips so alluring?
That was our family holiday last year, drove overnight to a place just a few minutes bus ride from Venice, a day in Venice, next day drove to Bellagio (stunning) then stayed there 2 days, down into Switzerland, across to Luxembourg etc. Absolutely fantastic and great memories. If you’ve not done Ven...

When in Perth we always go to The Island and I love the red ale.

Then to the Reveley for some Little Creatures Pale Ale.
At home it’s nearly always just Doom Bar as it goes down so well and I never feel bad on it.

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
Volvo S90 if he can cope with a 4-cylinder engine. 730d isn’t too ugly if you go for the pre-facelift version before the gopping grille was added. 6-series Gran Coupe? For mile munching only the Volvo of the above will come with active cruise/lane assist which makes a massive difference to the driv...

They both need to have the CSL wheels. I think if it was an own it for a week thing I’d choose the 46 as that induction noise is ridiculous. To own one it would be E92 as the extra power and newer body with less rust problems would be a big bonus. Aren’t I lucky that my bank account has removed thes...

I had a passenger ride in a 3.0TD one of these with a taxi company last year and it was such a great place to be. Wonderful ride, really smooth gearbox and the dash at night was lovely. I don’t know when they were made till though. There is a burgundy one with cream leather I see regularly and it’s ...

Re: Test drive report
With the particular chassis dynamics of a 911 I'm not against ensuring it has the maximum traction available... Even with 295s on the back of mine, across a twisty B-road in Scotland over crests and dips you can feel the rear subtly moving and shimmying across the road surface - I'm not sure I'd wa...

With a massive amount of experience (probably 100 miles between them) the 997 felt far more flat and less playful than the 996.
What about a good 996 Turbo, although the turbo running costs are a step up from a regular Carrera.

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
The LFB one I'm coming around to the cyclists POV on this. He's somewhat self-righteous about the situation, however, the LFB vehicle did cross a giveaway line into the path of a more vulnerable road user. I fully acknowledge that the LFB vehicle had trouble seeing the cyclist who was in the blind ...

We used bait and a big bugger of a spring.
Leave the body for a while to deter any brave ones.
Wipe blood over cheeks, roar in the garden in pants with the mouse head as a new hat.
Problem solved.

Re: Your fleet running reports
The ML died on the wife when at my parents house.
Lots of faffing as I’m away with work, recovered to a trusted garage and it’s the fuel pump fuse. All working fine now but will need some investigating and most likely a preventative new pump will be going on.
