Re: No F1 thread?

There has been a lot of chatter about Newey over the last week or so, seems like red bull find it hard to keep things in house. It dosnt make sense to me that Lewis was refused an ambassador role by Mercedes but this will be part of the mega deal offered to max. I remember exactly where I was 30 yea...

They were designed for a manual to be fair, not sure the same applies to newer models or the supra.

Going back 15plus years, I had a manual e60 530d and I thought it suited the car despite 99% of them being auto.

Rich B wrote: Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:18 pm No issues with my manual M2 - the driving position seems exactly the same as every other BMW I've owned and the tunnel is no higher than our 320d.
I cannot recall if you have an f22 or g87, maybe the comments on the M2 related to a clutch pedal and the middle carbon piece between your thighs.

Re: Today’s want

Are you talking about the pedals or the rain? :D I wasn’t clear - neither :D Lack of traction was frustrating, but it was the crap gear lever position that made it a firm non for me. (Or more specifically the arm rest that prevented you comfortably accessing the gear lever). Now that you mention it...

Re: Today’s want

You know when you start thinking about a car and then it seems like you see 3 or 4 of them on every journey. This one is a good spec and it has a 10 year warranty. https://used.toyota.co.uk/approved-used/toyota-supra-coupe-3-0t-gr-special-edition-euro-6-s-s-3dr-ybcdb46000w061283 That does look good...

Seems to be a shade of grey.

Re: Car Hire Lottery

That does look shit, but 12 miles at an average of 14mph in sport mode - were you driving into central Birmingham? Just an average day in Bromsgrove, it didn’t manage much better than mid 20s on the motorway. I mentioned it to enterprise and they said they had noticed the same. All the more reason ...

Re: Test drive report

Interesting reading as I am also planning a similar shopping list. If I could go out and buy either a GRMN Supra or a Z4M with the M4 engine in, I probably would find it difficult to choose between those 2. But as its little more than a rumour right now, and as I cant afford a 992 Turbo, I have been...

Re: Your fleet running reports

My BMW is back within 48 hours of throwing an error, which Im quite happy about. BMW Oldbury are very different compared to Worcester. A coolant seal had failed leading to leaking onto one of the injectors, a bank of 4 has been replaced and the seal fixed, amongst other things. The car defiantly fee...

Re: Car Hire Lottery

Not sure if this car is broken, my 740d was pretty much the same engine with a higher tune in a bigger car and would do 40+ for the same journey, even my 550 will do between 17 and 20 mpg, even in traffic.

Re: Car Hire Lottery

The 'luxury' range from enterprise is a bottom of the range 530d :(

Its probably worse jumping from the same car in the range as its impossible not to do a direct comparison.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Bet they charge the thick end of £100/hr for that level of kwalitee service, too... And the rest. My local non-specialist general purpose garage is £80+VAT. The 2 year oil change service is circa £300, they actually gave it for free after all the hassle and issues. Technical has diagnosed a fault w...

Re: Your fleet running reports

As a true IT professional, I switched it off for 10 mins and switched it back on, hoping it would go away but expecting the engine to explode. And it happens it started up with a very lumpy idle and I decided to take it home and call assist. It's been into BMW Worcester a few times now, seemingly ev...

Arguably overpriced, but looks like a very good job done, unlike some of the conversions I’ve seen. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135000218769

Re: Test drive report

I still havent driven a a110, probably should avoid doing so. I think that I would want the R but it feels way to expensive for what it is. I think that Id prefer an Alfa 4C, used prices for 2018/19 cars are pretty similar. The Mazda is a lot of car for the money and seems like there are a lot of ca...
