Re: Your fleet running reports

Still without a car of my own, which isn’t too bad as we have other cars in the house and working from home means that I don’t actually need a car, but want and need are 2 different things.

I drove a friends Taycan yesterday, it’s going back next week as the 4 year pcp comes to an end and the ...

£6200/day seems very high, not sure I’d be happy if I was a creditor.

Re: Lotus Carlton 35yr anniversary

I used to drive past Paul Matty lotus before it closed and actually saw a lot of these, they have a real presence and should be high on any fantasy garage.

Re: GVE London

You have to feel for the guy purchasing his dream car, seems very heavy handed from the police. I think financing a car, with the intention of paying it off in 6/12 weeks is sensible, avoids most serious problems.

Re: Your fleet running reports

The B5 is the pick of the bunch, rarer, 600bhp, 200mph and no msport suspension. However the b58 is probably a better engine than the n63, not just reliability but more suited to sporty driving.

Re: Your fleet running reports

It’s unusual for me to keep any car for 3 years, which in itself says a lot, the 550i has been an epic road car, as much as I love the M5 (and the CS would be in a 2 car lottery win garage next to a dan Elise), I honestly think the 550 is a better car, less asbo. It's at its best on a long journey ...

Re: 997 Carrera 2S

I’ve have driven the Abarth before, great sound and such a bargain, that was the engine before Mazda got their act together on the 2.0, but as a MX-5 geek I still can’t shake the feeling that a turbo is borderline sacrilegious. I’ll probably pop in to say hello at some point Dan.

Morgan, Im already ...

Re: 997 Carrera 2S

I’m still thinking about a new car, if I was to replace the bm, there is a case for a new or nearly new 911. I’d like the keep the 5 and without spending more than I’d like for a 2nd car, the 992 does make the 997 and 718 feel a bit 2nd rate.

Sadly the A110 and Emira are both hard tops and if I ...

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.

Seem like the EV cars will be the cooking models and the ICE will be reserved for the high end performance cayman and boxter.

I expect they are confident that this is the way eu legislation will go. I havent watched the latest Harrys garage, so unsure if this is covered by him.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I often get asked if my car is a 530d, even when I’m at a petrol pump holding a green nozzle.

I find it easier to nod and smile, usually followed by “I bet that shifts” or similar.

He did point out the scars in the landscape from numerous drift days on the site, luckily the damage wasnt too bad and the chap got home in one piece.

I didnt take any photos, here are some from the group chat.
