Can't you coax @MikeHunt along in his Thunder Night chariot? (I can't remember where he is based?) :?

Re: Today’s want

Difficult choice, even more so if they were priced more equally. I actually think that the v8 is more problematic than the v12.

Good point on the warranty, BMW make things difficult when sold via a private dealer. The flip side, is that independents are much better than the dealerships for ...

Re: Today’s want

Looking at an Alpina B7 or an M760Li, the sensible options are 740d, Range Rover, Bentayga, S63 Coupe, all “better” on paper, but as I don’t actually need a 2nd car, but here I am, drawn to the v12 and the tuning possibilities.

The fact that I can list a Bentley as the sensible option tells you ...

Re: M5 test drive report and new car thread

Congrats, great paint, we need to park next to each other at the next forum meet-up.

I have Bimmercode if you want to turn off the speed warning, it drove me insane after 3 miles.

ps what colour is the interior? :D

Re: No F1 thread?

I was genuinely baffled by some of the overtakes this morning, didn’t see them coming, none to do with drivers skill. I suspect we now have 22 Bernie buttons and it will quickly become old and unwatchable.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've leased a couple of cars myself and had no issues at all on collection. An ex-girlfriend leased a Polo which had quite noticable dents on the passenger side and was taken back without asking her to pay anything. I think you can get lucky or unlucky on collection depending on the person who ...

Re: AC Schnitzer

Up until about 10 years ago, ACS parts were sold by main dealers with warranty preserved, not sure why or when this faded but probably hasnt helped.

A piggy back remap costs the best part of £5k fitted and a fair chunk of that seems to be the warranty cost baked into the product price, an actual ...

Re: M5 test drive report

Deal done anyway. I’m not going to do a guess the new car thread because it would be too easy. Maybe guess the colour…?

Over £24,000 off list price. Happy with that.

Good luck with it.

This is another BMW to add to the list of cars that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole when announced but ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Ive finally hit the magic 1,200 run in mile marker, I resisted sports mode up until this point and had kept the revs below 4k.

It's difficult not to compare to the m550i, especially as the dashboard and cockpit are pretty similar at first glance. The z4 is a lot more fun to drive but does feel ...

Re: Car Limits (aka Walshy days)

Thinking of booking another one of these, I’d have preferred Thruxton with the skid pan, but there aren’t any weekend dates coming up.

For the Midlands guys, Stafford still has Sundays 19th April, 28th June, and 26th July, anyone else interested?

I considered this car too expensive at circa £75k when the first edition came out, back when the quality issues were still unknown it looked poor value compared to a cayman. An inflation busting nigh on 50% rise is insane.
