I think I mentioned the rocketeer in this thread when it was in the magazine, the cost goes up to £115kMito Man wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 1:23 pm I like it but at £29k it’s not very appealing. I prefer the Rotrex route, only up to 300bhp but DIY friendly and looks OEM+

Re: Bedford Autodrome - 20th July
I Wass looking at the Evo evening at Donnington on the 16th.
Its discounted to £203 (from £239) which isnt bad but still more expensive than Javelin, Opentrack etc. Not sure if Evo do anything different to justify this.

Re: Car Limits (aka Walshy days)
Still gutted I missed it, but sounds like Thruxton isnt worth the extra driving compared to Stafford, 4 hours round trip vs 90 mins.
I was hoping the skid pan would save my tyres as all 4 on the 550 looked like this, the z4 isnt that much lighter, can imagine the rears becoming slicks quite quickly ...

Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Great to meet you all, always slightly surreal putting faces to cars and usernames. Really enjoyed the food, the drive and the chat. Caffeine & Machine is a great venue, even if it’s slightly overpriced… although that’s probably true of everywhere these days. Some awesome cars there too, fair to say ...

Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
There was a suggestion of a us specific Peugeot when Stellantis formed, something about the proposed name makes it the best out of all the car numbers

Re: Southampton kickball team (ND)
Adding to what jamcg said, the last game between Southampton and Boro was close to going to penalties, with the winning goal scored in addition time. Spying on penalty training is potentially a huge advantage.

You have better expectations of politicians than I doBeany wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 10:24 am There really should be. If I voted for someone, I don't expect them to fuck it off when an opportunity for a better pension and to stick it in the eye of their party comes up. That's rather absurd.

Re: Car Limits (aka Walshy days)
Just came back this morning to say it’s already booked, presumably other cancelled dates grabbed the same day.
I’ve been sent a discount code for the Evo track days, I might grab a refund and do Bedford and Donington instead.

NHS waits are down, interest rates and unemployment seem to be heading the right way, GDP is showing a bit of life, and inflation has gone from crisis-level to just uncomfortable.
Yet Starmer still seems to get treated less like a disappointing PM and more like someone people genuinely can’t stand ...

Re: Today’s want
This month’s evo kicks off driving the mx5 v6 restomod. I’d seen a couple of NA conversions before and knew the NB was similar enough to make it possible, but being reminded how good they can be has definitely pushed one higher up my want list.

Reform appears to be fueled by deep-pocketed donors from abroad. I'm sure they wake up every day thinking only of what’s best for the normal bloke on the street.

Re: Car Limits (aka Walshy days)
Quick reply, it’s those dates or anything on website. Ignoring thruxton dates with only 1 or 2 spaces, the next options are 20th or 27th August.
There are dates at Stafford, including weekends but it’s an airfield and doesn’t have the skidpan,
