Re: Decent Recent TV

Ripley

Binged the whole lot. It’s slow paced with a nonetheless gripping plot and Ripley made me feel acutely uncomfortable, which was undoubtedly intentional. Loved the Italian setting, absolutely beautiful.

Re: Woman

Dumping by WhatsApp is low, unless you've only seen them a for a few dates. It's never an easy conversation, but always a better outcome. Anyway, to contradict everyone else I'd say this is a great opportunity to stay the fcuk away from wasting hours on dating apps and instead to selfishly focus on ...

Is that the mill they use to mill the table for smaller mills? How big is the mill they use to mill the mill that milled that mill? And what happens when you don't have a mill big enough to mill the final boss master mill?

Re: Coronavirus

Same boat here, after a fortnight flying up and down to London. Sore throat/cough. Most definitely isn't mild. I haven't left my bed in a week and it feels like someone has stabbed me in the throat with a rusty screwdriver, while my lungs are trying to turn themselves insideout like a duvet on laun...

Absolutely pissed that I'm having a four-year anniversary bout of Covid. Had sore thoat/cough symptoms at start of the week and couldn't taste my coffee this morning. Did a test and yep, it's fookin Covid. https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExdGszZHhhMnIzbW5la2JseWIyZ2g4eDA5OXYxYjQyOGR6N...

Not the massive wide angle lens making it appear like a swerve as the LR comes from the side to the centre of the lens? Not that it wasn't a damn close pass but I think the lens exageratted it. It's the other way around, that a wide-angle lens exaggerates the sense of space, therefore if it looks l...

As awesome as the VisonPro is, it has the 3DTV problem whereby the experience was cool but people just CBA with the glasses. Most people don't want to wear a computer on their head.

Re: The House Projects Thread

Floors are being sanded today and we're trapped upstairs by sheets of plastic - it looks like house in ET when the government swoops down. Of course poor planning and preparation is to blame. Child #2 is wondering if she could get food delivered and they'd be happy to try throwing it up through an ...

Started using an Apple watch occasionally and the battery life is shocking. I'm used to a Garmin that lasts for weeks at a time between charges  Yeah, it really is rubbish! 😂 I still use one though as I use fitness+ and “it just works” etc. I find it best to charge whilst getting ready in the ...

That too. The cheap flight to Italy (£200 return including luggage) departs at something like 5.30am, which means I'd need to leave for the airport around 2.30am. Proper middle-of-the-night travel times.

Calculated that driving to my dad's instead of flying saves about £3-500 and a tonne of CO2 compared to flying.
How far is that, and is that based on several people? I did some rough calcs and it seemed that flying would be more CO2 efficient for travelling alone for Italy.

Re: Why are road trips so alluring?

They don't make sense but that is the fun. And if you do it in a Smart that's more of a challenge so the feeling of accomplishment will be greater. That might be why these trips can be so memorable, even when they're awful. Memories are made through experiences, especially ones that are unusual. We...
