Re: FTAO historians
I suspect the first time someone ate spice it wasn't a chicken phal with a keema naan, but more likely a quill of cinnamon in hot water, or some ginger. They'd work their way up to the curry from there.

Re: FTAO historians
Here's a download link to Chapter 15 from A History of Food by Maguelonne Toussaint-Samat which covers the spice trade and mentions curry. Not sure if it answers your question but it might help https://we.tl/t-ow2LRvCHY1

You can visit floor 72, there's an open observation deck up there. In fact it's very windy at the top of the Shart, which often comes as a surprise.

Re: Driving in London
Central London is better than the outskirts. I find Canary Wharf to Dagenham to be an absolute shit hole whenever I drive in and out of London. It’s also the only place I frequently see Police chases. OMG the A13 Newham Way from Canning Town eastbound is unquestionably the most feral stretch of roa...

Driving in London
Having a blast through the lanes at the weekend was a completely shock to the system (a refreshingly good one!) and a reminder of how catastrophically awful London has become for drivers. It's been years since I had a good drive on some fun, clear roads, and it's thrown London's drudgery into sharp ...
Re: Dashcams
I'm also looking to get a dashcam at Christmas for the Ateca, does anyone have recommendations or ones to avoid? I guess they're all pretty straightforward really, plus the car already has USB wiring in place. Depends on budget, I got a Viofo based on numerous positive reviews on youtube. Viofo als...

Re: Bernie selling 69 F1 cars
What a pointless exercise. They should be in a museum for the public to enjoy and learn the history of the sport and teams. Instead they'll most likely disappear into private collections never to be seen again. There is truth in that, it's like the entire David Bowie archive going to the V&A ra...

All the Ring stuff is 40-50% off on Black Friday (ending today) and it's genuinely cheaper than before, they rarely offer a discount this deep. I'm going to buy some stuff while it's cheap for the new place in Suffolk, if it turns out I don't need it free returns in 30 days

Re: West Suffolk meet? SUNDAY 2nd MARCH!
I'll make sure this keeps bumped and pushed up in the new year too so we all get as much warning as possible to keep it in the diary.

Re: West Suffolk meet? Poll now added
Ahhh, okay, didn't realise you were big on bikes now! Nice that theyr'e all good though.
Anyway, let's all put Sunday 2nd March in the diary for the meet. I'll look for locations and roads over the coming months as I'm going to be driving that area a lot from now on!

Re: Your fleet running reports
Gav, your new car looks great. I’m not sure if it is based on the same platform as the Yeti or (more likely) the next generation of that. A Golf may be all anyone needs but something like the Ateca is much more what people want and use. My stepson is after a car since he’s about to return his compa...

Re: Your fleet running reports
New car collected and I couldn't be happier with it :D :D :D I'm really amazed by how well it handles, it's very nimble, has a great connection to the road, nice and precise steering and the 2.0tdi has more than enough guts to whizz around the country roads. It's actually great fun to drive - I had ...

Re: Interview presentation advice
My top advice would be to ensure you are using the word "you/your" instead/alongside "me" or "I" throughout your presentation. For example, take the phrase "I'm exceptionally good at counting" and change it to "I will bring advanced counting skills to you...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
She did something a bit odd a decade ago, in her twenties, and has now taken responsibility and resigned from her ministerial post. It's absolutely meaningless mudslinging and also, I hate how nobody in politics is allowed to have any hint of a real life. So many people have got into scrapes or dodg...

Re: Countdown to picking up new car day
Fuckin hell that was a long week  Also to add to the whole life change, I'm doing a second viewing and meeting the owners of the new place in Suffolk tomorrow morning to tie up the details. It's only a rental, but it's blooming lovely. Looks like a new home and new car all sorted by the end of ...
