Sweet Bobby.
How… just how could someone honestly be strung along for NINE years. I don’t get it.

Re: Trump
Going back to the racism and misogyny, I realised that Trump only ever won office when faced with a woman for the democrat candidate. The one time it was a safe, middle aged white man, Trump lost.
Re: Rum Fred
Although, as a rum snob, I'll just point out that Diplomatico (especially the Reserva Exclusiva) is more of a rum liqueur than a rum. It has one of the highest added sugar %ages of any of the adulterated rums. Spiced rums, by and large, are also fairly heavily adulterated with sugar. That will expl...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
I meant to say - if a farmer's entire crop fails because of rain or drought, they make a loss for the year, simple as that. It's understandable that solar makes sense with our current high energy prices, until we crash into the sun. But then again, it also makes sense to develop mixed farming method...
Re: Rum Fred
I've never rated Kraken for some reason, I've never finished a bottle and wanted to buy another (the following day/week, not the same night, obvs  ) The Diplomatico is £36 (down from £41) in Sainsburys at the moment, so around double the price of the Dead Man's Finger etc which are usually £18-...
Re: Rum Fred
Bought some Birthday weekend tipple. Had a quick nip a moment ago and tastes very nice, definitely better than my other favourites. Here's my high-street favourites in order of preference: Diplomatico Red Leg Spiced Dead Man's Finger Spiced Duo Spiced Havana Club Golden Kraken Spiced Sailor Jerry Ca...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
Definitely won’t cause a food crisis in about 5 years  Remember that solar farms on good land gives them a special certificate that says they are saving the planet, food is very last year. Dave! It's not that, it's because having a solar farm creates a consistent income stream that can be high...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
It'd be interesting to know Kaleb's background because he chose to go into contracting rather than running his own farm. I wonder if his parents have a farm, he's obviously grown up on one based on his knowledge at his age.

Re: Bye bye Starmer
It's a weird one because farming is inherently a family business, that's true around the world and gives a strong reason to protect farms. But if younger generations are not taking up farming in this country, then why should they get IHT relief?

Re: Bye bye Starmer
Harry Metcalfe complained about the price of farmland being pushed up. Taking away the demand from those using it as a tax planning device may assist actual farmers. That's a good point, there is a massive problem with the ageing farming population, only 15% are under 45, while 38% are over 65. The...
Re: Trump
Two things:
1) Biden did a speech today and I'd completely forgotten he existed
2) I reckon there's no way Harris will get another nomination in 2028, despite being a great candidate.

Seems to be extremely flexible in that respect, it was on MoneySavingExpert and they think it's a loss leader to get people onto the platform.

Re: Is there any substance to astrology?
Maybe I should try this, I realised years ago that there are certain phrases which you can say to anyone and they will immediately identify with them as being very specifically peronal, despite being a non-specific generalised comment; e.g. "It sounds like you're going through a period of profo...
