Re: Gout
I don't think it's to do with breaking your toe in the past - gout just seems to start there for most people. Probably because it's the furthest/lowest joint so that's where the uric acid crystals collect. Exactly this. My late father suffered with it notably although the drugs helped to manage it....
Re: Twitter
I do wonder what is going to happen to Twitter. Presumably he cannot afford to sell it without losing out both financially and in reputation. But the current trend suggests it will be run down to a point where it represents a viable proposition for somebody else to take over? And at that point it wi...

Re: Your final internal combustion engined car
I’m probably already driving it if we’re talking realistic motors. And now that BMW have ballsed up the G20 interior of the LCI’d refreshed version, I do suspect that my M340i xDrive will hang around for a while. I’ve looked at the i4 but it’s ‘cold’ in comparison and not sure can quite stretch to a...

Re: FAO bikers
Still going ahead with the DAS although due to various stuff, such as wanting to get my own gear first and other more fundamental things like work commitments which have arisen, will be into next year. Always seems to be into the future but I am determined to do it. But I am still sold on the Pan Eu...
Re: HM ERII
Very sad day indeed. To think of not seeing her on the news in those cheerful and colourful outfits (don’t seem to remember ever seeing her in grey) is really quite depressing. RIP, a proper lady.

Yep saw this announced on Breakfast this morning. Fair play to Naga Munchetty, she held it together whilst talking about him. Clearly very upset.

Re: What the bastard fuck is that!!??
Saw this on Twitter earlier and my immediate thought was the front end and how is that allowed when rules these days mean front end design often looks a little ‘stuffed’. Presumably it’s related to their volumes?

Best Christmas present 2022
Placeholder, and an opening bid. Wife has got me a 737 sim experience. Having spent far too many hours playing with PMDG’s 700 in MSFS I am now obviously expected to land it. Should be fun.

Yeah I know but my OCD wants it facing forward. And Rich is probably right. And fuck me when did that last happen.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 9:01 pm Ride in, up the step, then roll out backwards down the step.

Re: FAO bikers
Just searched for the weight of a Pan 1300 - 326kgs wet :D That's gonna need some core strength to move about, if needs arise. If it leans more than 10degrees at standstill you're going down for sure. That's 100kgs heavier than my BMW S1000XR. I see plenty old frail types on them so it must be mana...

Re: FAO bikers
Biggest I’ve ridden was back when I was a teenager. 250cc of some description. I recall being far too terrified of the grunt in a straight line to worry about its weight in the bends. Not ridden anything bigger. I take the point about the heft, and I’ll be going through a CBT refresher and then onto...

Re: FAO bikers
Do you all imagine I’m going to be greasing up my balls and lapping Thruxton? 😀 I’ll potter about every now and again, nothing more. Just something I’ve always fancied and talked about often enough. And the Pan seems and looks modern enough whereas some other machinery like older BMW bikes don’t app...

Re: FAO bikers
The only issue I had when doing my CBT several years was hill starts. Low speed manoeuvring was ok but I do get the point about it being a big lump and hence can be something of a pain. Weight is low down though which apparently helps. Thing is, I have no interest in anything sporty. I know the Pan ...

Re: FAO bikers
No such thing as a stupid question. Wife has been dead against me having a bike for years but long story short we’ve agree I’ll do it for my 50th. She still hates the idea but recognises I want to do it. Yes will be a first bike, but based on advice I’m informed they are relatively benign and focuse...

FAO bikers
Anybody got any idea whether any bike mags have done a buyers guide on the ST1300 Pan-European please? I know Bike did a feature in August 2002 when it was new, but a pre-owned feature is what I’m after really. Yes it’s for me, will be a 50th present for myself.
