Elise engine cover has big holes covered in mesh.
Mesh doesn’t do as good a job of blocking light as a metal rover 200 bonnet

Re: Your fleet running reports
I’ve clearly missed some stuff, that’s very cool Ascender. Only cool because it might actually get used on dirty bumpy roads 😂 I struggle to think of a current vehicle more tragic than a Dakar which does a donut on a smooth field for the ‘gram then spends its life ‘life styling’ around London with ...

Re: Tesla Cyberpuke
I find it utterly baffling that so many people can’t see past his bullshit.
Wouldn’t surprise me if his ‘robots’ were actually actors in suits.
I expect a lot of the top bods and actual investors and developers would be very happy if he had a little yachting accident.

Re: Camping Power
Seems like an appropriate place to ask, just wondered if anyone had or knew of a mains usb supply which also had a battery backup which would kick in seamlessly? Mains usb supplies are very common, battery powered usb supplies are common, but other than a couple of dodgy looking things on Amazon, no...

I expect if it’s carrying more people than it’s registered / insured for and something happened to one of them you could be in do-do.

The taxi of the future which has the tyres painted to match the hubcaps to make them look lower profile.
And a minibus with no ground clearance and no windows. Because people love being driven around while not being able to see out.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Mito has a rear wheel bearing which is gradually getting louder.
Looks like they’re about £30 for a non-shit brand.
I think that’s the first first mechanical failure on it since fixing a broken spring when my mum still owned it approx 8 years and 60,000 miles ago

Re: Insurers scraping social media for registration plates
Often wondered what happens if you’re making your way safely through a flood with no issues and a car coming the other way causes a large bow wave which swamps your engine. Would you be able to claim against the other cars insurers for damaging your vehicle? I would assume you could, but without a d...

Re: The ebay thread
Had a look around a very nice one at a local show and was amazed how nicely engineered and how practical it was.
Full size spare in a cubby behind the driver, removeable panel for engine access behind that. Hard top stows neatly in the front storage area etc.

Compact dropped by £104
Not sure I can be bothered to shop around and look. Suppose I should really…

Re: Harry’s Garage
I’m just interested in cars and would like to know more about some of the decisions made, which in the face of it doesn’t seem like a great idea. I expect things have moved on now. Driftworks have just fitted a mk3 clio setup to their v8 e30 m3 with knob to give variable assistance. I guess one of t...

I also don’t want to be one of ‘those’ people on the internet, but the company who arranged it towed it to / from the trimmers with an e61 535d which has (from what I can see) a towing capacity of 2T. An e61 M5 on its own weighs 1955kg. Could have been an interesting conversation if something had ha...

Re: Harry’s Garage
Yeah, they definitely weren’t working. Not required for the mot anyway, not that it seems to be a major concern 😄 Amazes me how cars can come back from having absurd amounts of money spent on them and still have basic and obvious mechanical faults. The steering didn’t look much fun on the hairpins e...
