Re: Tesla Cyberpuke
It’s weird really, the US used to have really over the top regulations, resulting in huge diving board impact bumpers, side marker lights, universal size headlight etc, yet have a stupidly backwards brake / tail / indicator setup and seemingly the truck industry is allowed to pretty much self regula...

Re: Someone had a bad day...
The roads are ridiculously slick at the moment, even my little fwd spam chariot has been struggling for traction and slipping about all over the place. Old school lag, fat tyres, slippery roads, I bet it was no more than a brief spike of power and slight slither and an ‘oh shit’ jump off the throttl...

Re: £250k R34 GTR
Never really got the r34 thing to be honest. I guess they’re rather special here for being the first one officially sold in the uk. Still rather have an r32 I guess people with ultra low mileage versions of special cars can put pretty much whatever price they like on it in the hope that it catches t...

I thought they weren’t allowed to discriminate for sex any more? Maybe they load quotes based on names against a list of what’s usually male or female to get round it or something.
Maybe he should change his name to Jennifer

Re: Dashcams
It’s only going to get worse isn’t it, auto braking and collision avoidance, knobheads know the car is going to stop regardless of the driver.
I’ve joked before that I can’t wait for the majority of cars on the road to be autonomous, it will mean I can drive however I like and they’ll avoid me

Re: Mortgages
Yes, sounded more like discounting to try and encourage sales after a poor end of the year than a real downward trend in prices. I’m not sure they’ll cut rates yet for an unexpected blip, it was up last month remember. Sounded more like the news trying not to be entirely doom and gloom than actual f...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Ouchie. Is that the Tesla? It is - actually looks better in the light of the morning. I think the rear bumper cover is about £700 for a new one so a replacement doesn't seem worthwhile but I might look into repairs. I do remember something about calibration of sensors being important when I previou...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I also ran low on screen wash yesterday. The mito is particularly annoying as with the headlights on it washes the lights every single time you use the washers to clean the screen so seems to guzzle gallons of the stuff, and the washer bottle is pretty small. Thinking of sticking a switch in the fee...

Re: The Weather Thread.
It was 5c on my way home last night, but there’s so mush damp slimey grit and salt on the roads that traction from a standing start seemed almost non existent! I was a bit too keen exiting a roundabout and the car just ploughed straight on 😄 Needs a good downpour to wash the crap away now the temper...

He’ll probably buy epic games so they can rig it to favour his character so he can win more at Fortnite and impress little kids or something.

Surely it’s just a differential in front of the engine for the front wheels, not a gearbox like he kept saying? The rear has an 8 speed gear box, with a 2 speed box drawing power from the front of the crankshaft, clutch on both half shafts. An extended warranty probably for the best. Fair enough. B...

Yay, another absurdly priced car with a terrible user interface.

I’ve watched a couple of carwow reviews recently and noticed a few dashboards have purple flickering IR diodes. I assume this is some sort of driver monitoring thing?

I get the food being ‘normal’ to them, but it’s no excuse for being rude to the people serving you. I’ll say thank you to the teenager handing over my bag at McDonalds the same as someone on the till at a supermarket, serving me a drink at a bar or my meal in a restaurant etc.

At a very rough guess I’d say there’s at least 30kg of glass in a small 3 door hatchback, probably not far off in a 911

Offers a weight advantage over 4 kg and 4Kg over the standad glass? What's the standard glass made of? Lead? Have you ever picked up a windscreen? They’re pretty heavy! Thinner glass has been a thing on performance cars for a long while 😄 Actually makes good sense on a dakar which will already weig...

Re: Decent car YouTubes
It’s only a little bit at a time but the roads aren’t getting any bigger so must be a point things start to feel a bit too big. It’s not always about the extremities, just overall bulk, seating position, visibility etc can make something feel a lot bigger than the figures alone show. My friendly lit...
