Re: CCTV Recorder

I can't see why you cannot just replace with a plug and play new PVR box. What output do the cameras have - are they IP connections? My other question would be what resolution are the cameras? If they are less than 4k then it may be worth swapping them but again you should be able to replace the ca...

Is it totally dead or just the hard drives? I don't know, but replacing the box looks pretty cheap. Seen this for £70... https://www.amazon.co.uk/ANNKE-Recorder-Security-Pictures-Smartphone/dp/B00JL7FYOA/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1SQCP9UXKINOD&keywords=cctv+recorder+with+hard+drive&qid=170662155...

CCTV Recorder

We've had our Irlab CCTV installed about 7 years ago and the digital recorder box has stopped working. Original installer hasn't returned our calls so had a different company round that was recommended by a neighbour. Wife said the technician recommended replacing the whole system at £1700 which see...

Re: The Watches Thread

Saw these recommended by AM on watch finder - https://underd0g.com/products/01mcbr

Love a good micro brand and underd0g seem to offer something genuinely different (in a good way).

Re: Harry’s Garage

I see it's about £46k more than a base 520i. That would make sense if you're getting a proper M car with trick suspension, a special engine etc. But when it's really only extra acceleration you're getting (okay air suspension but as Jobbo points out, will be interesting to see the real difference) a...

Re: Thatched roof homes

Indeed it is. We currently live opposite a village pub and HSBC were fine with that, and the last two people who put offers in also had a mortgage approved, but obviously I don't know who the bank was. I hope it will be ok, and that the surveyors incorporate some common sense.. Who would you say is...

Re: Thatched roof homes

Didn't see it's close to a pub. We had some trouble helping a client buying a cottage near a pub (HSBC's surveyors rejected it even though it shows on there criteria as okay). For example Nationwide show - Considered - If any of the commercial activities are likely to cause a nuisance by virtue of n...

Re: Thatched roof homes

Nice! It's fairly close to us; we're in Arlesey at the minute. But as WFH is more of a thing, being near a train station/A1 etc isn't as important as it once was. Our next neighbour used to commute to London every day which seemed a bit nuts to me from Bolnhurst. Blunham is probably better if you s...

Re: Thatched roof homes

Cheers guys. Hopefully Jobbo can give his thoughts. Good point re. The fireboarding. I'll find out. Here's the house - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/133545503#/?channel=RES_BUY On the street view, you can actually see the crows pulling the thatch  a thatcher is going to tidy it up bef...

Vantablack?
That's it! I see it was BMW that used it on a X6

Saw a Purosangue yesterday.. the trim around the wheel arches is pretty ugly. Thankfully, this popped up on insta today 😍 https://www.instagram.com/reel/C14ruxNxXGI/?igsh=bGdkZmt5cm5nNHox That does look lovely. Is that the special black paint that Rolls Royce use? Re: The Watches Thread

So ended up with the most boring and obvious choice of all, a black bay 58 on a bracelet. Very chuffed with it. At 39mm it's the right size for me, not too flashy and feels robust so I don't worry about wearing it a lot. Nice choice. Very good VFM! I ended up trying on even more different watches b...

Re: The Watches Thread

The CW twelve seems to get great reviews, looks amazing value and does look good. Didn't like their divers range though I like the C60 Elite 1000, but despite having the new logo at 12 o'clock, it also has the old text logo at 9 o'clock, which looks crap to me. https://www.watchitallabout.com/wp-co...

Re: The Watches Thread

TUDOR definitely seem to be one of those brands that make a good quality watch at sensible prices and have a really nice range IMO. High up my list of next watches, although I also like some of Chris Ward's current offerings. The CW twelve seems to get great reviews, looks amazing value and does lo...

Re: The Watches Thread

It's been interesting re-reading this thread from the beginning, not least to see how much some watch prices have increased. There's a post 3 years ago saying how expensive a Seamaster 300 is at £4k (they're £5.5k now). Also didn't realise how many of you own some lovely watches. Have spent the last...

I'd not realised he had his own channel - was subscribed to the Watchfinder channel which he presents but always wondered if there was a corporate line he had to toe on that. Thanks for the link. I started with Teddy Baldassarre's video's but quickly realised he seems to mainly recommend the same b...
