Re: New Arrival
Yeah, I had to drop my daughter off at the bus stop at an ungodly hour today and orange is pretty full on.
I take it this has rear wheel steer? I should check, but there's a couple of crazy tight bends up to the house and this gets round in the same turning circle as the M3 if not better.

I mean, I like the back end because it's a Lamborghini from the back? As for the rest...
R8s really are gorgeous. How much is a V10 one these days?

Interior light bar is now orange, thanks for the tip. Still very strange starting it up in hybrid and moving away in silence.

I did wonder if you could change that... I've not had time to look at it tbh, so that's on the list for later tonight!Jobbo wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 2:23 pm Have you been able to configure a nice orange for the interior lighting to go with the outside? I found purple straight away and didn't look any further![]()
Re: EV Thread
I had an Andersen Quartz charger fitted after buying my M5 because trying to share one charger is a pain. And I've been happy with it, though it wasn't cheap to fit due to where it was going (plenty of expensive cable required from the consumer unit) and the fact we already had a charger so needed ...

Re: New Arrival
I think like a lot of BMW colours, they change a lot in given lighting conditions. Its definitely more of a burnt orange/flame colour in this dull weather.

How much of the exterior design of EVs (variations on a bar of soap) is down to the aero requirements needed to make this thing that weighs so much but needs to get x number of miles from the batteries?

Re: The House Projects Thread
After what seems like forever, our building warrant has finally been issued.
First step, asbestos roof sheets to come off and then we can crack on.
I think the aim will be to get the extension wind and watertight before late Autumn meaning the interior can be done in stages when the guys are free.

Re: Ferrari Luce Reveal
The rage about this from Ferrari fans is pretty funny though. Loads of it directed at the design team, as if they think nobody internally at Ferrari signs off on these things at different stages.
And a lot of the "fixed it" renders seem to ignore the fact that presumably there's a lot of design ...

I think that green Caterham looks the business 8-)
The ex Drivetribe guy drove one of those Morgan's up to a hill on the west coast and he thought the styling looks like they've tried to do a "Singer" on it. I think that dark purple one looks really nice, but not sure if they've quite figured out ...

Re: Ferrari Luce Reveal
The interior is nice enough, I'd be happy with that in a £80,000 car, and that's the problem with that too.
I reckon it'll be forced through purely to reduce co2 fleet emissions, want a combustion engine Ferrari? Well you'll have to buy this EV.
I bet the interior components feel way better ...

Looks like other motoring journos have now posted their ones, for some reason it was MKBHD's which was front and centre.
I really like the interior, especially the materials used, but that's no surprise given it was Jony Ive. I know we've seen components of this before, but I think it's a great use ...

Re: EV's with stoopid big bhp numbers
I fail to see the point of chasing the bigger numbers. I'd be more impressed if they focused on improving the range/efficiency and made a fuss about that.
This is where I'm at. Seems to be very little in the way of new thinking, just "chuck a bigger battery in it".
Not sure which option that ...
