Re: New iPhones
I actually think the R looks like the best of the offerings. Size is better, has all the cool new shit just has an LED rather than OLED screen. Cheaper and available in better colours. I was kind of with you but would miss the really good cameras from the X. The new Watch looks good, but I've been ...

Re: New iPhones
Maybe they'll just include usb-c chargers with usb-c to lightning cables as that's the best of both worlds for Apple.

Re: Decent Recent TV
Bodyguard is really good. Only minor gripe so far is that last episode where one of the detectives investigating the attack just brushed off evidence that David was gathering around the cctv being tampered with and his flat being searched by someone else. That's the kind of "intelligent charac...

Re: Decent Recent TV
I really enjoyed Jack Ryan . It looks stunning and is a nice story arc done in one season without leaving things open for a second series with the same characters. A lot of the usual tropes for this sort of thing post 9/11 are rolled out, but that's the age we live in. The characters also behave pre...

Re: New iPhones
It only seems like Apple likes to bin off tech quickly because we're all getting older and time is rushing past now at a rate we can't comprehend. Magsafe lasted about 12 years and is still available on the Air. Even the lightning cable is about 6 years old now and they got grief after replacing the...

This year's releases seem to be about even bigger iPhones which is the exact opposite of what I'd like to see. And gold bling finishes...

Re: New iPhones
Yes, they sent invites out to the press and announced it at the end of August.ShockDiamonds wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:32 pmAnnouncement next Weds apparently (their usual timing, by all accounts).
Is anyone on the iPhone upgrade programme or do you all just pay for them outright with whatever cash you find down the back of your sofas?
Re: 992
I think it looks quite nice and pretty much as expected. If we're going to discuss the classic 911 shape being distilled, that ship sailed many many years ago.

Weird, you can't seem to buy or stream Smokey and the Bandit or Cannonball Run from anywhere. The sequels are on there but not the originals....

Another 80s legend gone.... Cannonball and Smokey movies were a staple part of my childhood, so its time to put them on over the weekend I think.

Re: New iPhones
I don't see why that's an unreasonable ask given how technology progresses. Not powering that larger oled screen might be enough to cram all they need in to a 7 case. I used an SE recently and it felt comically small at first, but I really appreciated the size after a few days of using it. They've s...

Re: New Z4
I quite like the front end and bonnet, but it just looks exactly like what I'd expect a new Z4 to look like. And that's kind of been the case the last few generations. Do they sell many these days?

Re: James Bond Films - Ranked
I'm also Roger Moore generation so Live and Let Die is my favourite by some stretch although I do like what they've done with Daniel Craig's ones. I know Bourne upped the bar, but I think Mission Impossible Fallout has just upped it even further, so with that and also the world we live in, its going...

Re: New 2018 BMW M5 Competition review - better than an E63 S?
The way BMW do these updates to the M3 and M5 just reminds me of Spinal Tap when Marty DiBergi is trying to explain to Nigel that if they made 10 louder, there's no need for an 11.
But its one louder.

Re: Lego
That's a real disappointment. So much of the overall package is spot on, but what's with the lack of smooth curves? Its as if the last 20 years of curved lego never happened. Fair enough, use more traditional blocks underneath, but that outer shell surely has to be like the real thing?
Re: RFPs
Hahahahahahahahahaha I laugh in the face of your puny shenanigans. Work permits on an oil rig, it took me an hour to get a hot work permit, extinguisher, fire watchman, all to drill about 10 aluminium rivets out. Next job I used a chisel. Lifting plans, all very pretty and then get thrown aside as ...
