Re: Your fleet running reports
It's only just occurred to me - belm - is there a decent RR forum ? Classifieds there might be a good place to look. Never used it, but it’s a sister forum to the Disco3/4 which I did use and it was very good informative with people happy to take the time to explain shizzle. https://www.fullfatrr.c...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I wonder if they put ‘spares and repairs’ on the sales invoice?! When I was in the classic car trade it wasn’t uncommon for the sales invoice to basically say that it was a piece of art to look at, rather than drive… To be fair to my boss at the time, when selling cars like 1960s Maseratis that had...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Indeed. Currently obsessing with specs of L405 Range Rovers. In theory one of those would cover the roles of both Cayenne & Bentley. Take someone with you when you go to the Vogue Centre. I went to look at an L322 and I’m pretty sure it was a pikey site…. Ironically I bought an L322 elsewhere a...

Re: Range Rover.
Ah OK - I'm sure you're right. Keyless start is half the problem though as the body control module can be fooled into thinking that a key is in the car by the crims plugging something into the OBD II. You still need to get in but jammers to stop you locking it or even just a broken window would all...

Re: Range Rover.
I thought L322s weren't so affected by insurance premium hikes but this picture is from a cash machine ram raid in Cheltenham - this morning I think. https://i2-prod.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/incoming/article9080535.ece/ALTERNATES/s510b/0_IMG_2796.jpg To think they chose one without privacy glass :...

Ah yes. The rear one (intake?) proved troublesome on mine to change. The one on the front of the engine was a piece of piss to change.

Re: Mini Cooper S/Works
My GP is a 2013 and has the N18. I think the S got the N18 before the JCW did. Either way I’m fairly certain both models had the N18 from 2012. As said above, turbos don’t seem to be the issue with either engine. N14s suffered with timing chains and High Pressure Fuel Pump issues. N18s suffer with b...

Re: Advice requested - which may be ignored of course
I have both Mik, a couple of MXS5.0 for maintaining batteries and have recently bought a Noco GB50, as the RR struggles to start in winter, particularly when the FBH is on. Previously when it wouldn’t start, I’d resort to using the CTEK to charge it enough to start it, but it takes a while to build ...

Re: Any recommendations for winter tyres?
They seem a very soft compound judging by how ‘squirmy’ they were initially, Same for all winters. Even softer tyre versions are available in nordics / Russia etc where it gets seriously cold. Absolutely Mik. I was just surprised at the difference. Perhaps the summer RFT that I changed from (as wel...

Re: Any recommendations for winter tyres?
I bought these for winter last year, to be used on my 330d x-drive. https://www.continental-tyres.co.uk/b2c/car/tyres/wintercontact-ts-870-p/ They seem a very soft compound judging by how ‘squirmy’ they were initially, although this might be them bedding in or me needing to adjust my driving style. ...

Very (very) random question- you didn’t happen to be in an Exeter hotel this morning, did you? I overheard a conversation during breakfast recounting a very similar story. Best of luck with the recovery. Nope - at home in Yeovil, so reasonably close by but even i can't shout that loud   :...

Re: Harry’s Garage
Totally agree with everything you’ve said Matty. For my next purchase, I’d love an R8, Lotus Elise S2 with K20 (inspired partially by Duncs and his S1) or an Evora. Ricky’s buying guide videos highlighted potential pitfalls and ones to avoid, particularly in respect of the early ones. Harry’s enthu...

Re: Harry’s Garage
This ones interesting as I've been keeping an eye on the R8 market for a bit. I get the impression that finding a good one could be tricky - especially after hanging around the R8 Facebook groups for a while...some of them look ropey as fuck, and it seems (as per the buying guide by RE Performance)...

Re: Book review thread
Anyone got any recommendations for compelling non-fiction/autobiography reads? Finding a massive lull in reading as my attention span hits rock bottom 😒 I've just read Concorde, by Mike Bannister. It details his early flying career as well as interesting facts about Concorde, and his take on the ca...

Re: Coaster/YK
Awful news. Really rather cut up about that. YK loved a good run up in the Highlands and was always keen to meet up. Thoroughly nice bloke and an absolute CG - it was a stretch to buy his GT3, and he then used it as it was designed to be used. No investment pampering for YK. I have more than ...

Have you not declared the points in previous years? If you did, can you access your old insurance documents? They would show a breakdown of offences and dates.
