Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Yep cruise is awesome, keyless go I wasn't convinced by, mainly because I spent longer each day making sure the key was in my pocket than I would have done bunging it in the ignition :D

Irrespective of who’s fault etc

The man, in front of the invited press, say “actually, there’s no press here”
Proof, were it required, that he's a moronic lying cunt.

Re: Parking / legal question

Annoying. I would just put a "Don't park like a cunt" message under their wipers. There are two guys that live opposite us that I believe are both in the building trade and/or plumbers and at they have an old 944 (which they put under a cover and doesn't turn a wheel for months) plus two dog cock r...

Re: Parking / legal question

Leaving aside the fact that it's annoying, how would this be enforced legally? Someone with legal jurisdiction would have to actually stake out the area while they did it, and then arrest them for........parking in a parking area?

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

I didn't bother letting it rev out because it's pointless but people tell me there's a bit more spark up that end of the revs too. I've probably mentioned this before but of the three 1200 boxer BMWs I've ridden, two of them (an R1200R in Japan and fairly new GS in Norway) did not benefit one iota ...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Awesome stuff, I've always enjoyed the extent to which the RT works for you, brilliant 8-)

ShiftCam on the RR seems to bring the kick that mine has at 9k down to about 5k. That's insane!! Total game-changer.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

I'll just wait for the chap on the internet to tell me / us, or not

(or he has bought the RT1250 the dealer lent him while his 1200 was being serviced, at a guess).

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Ah is there a new purchase to divulge? I'm trying to think what the previous fleet was - S1000R, RT1200, 748? Can't see any of these being chopped in.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

So September is service time for all three bikes as the summer relents and it's time to start using them again. I think I might be enjoying this less, the more of it I do  Super Tenere - I'm very much "on the spectrum" when it comes to following service schedules, and the book says replace the ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I bought a lovely little cottage back in June, which also meant I'd no longer be walking to work. As much as I'd love to be using the 650i every day, it's far too costly, especially with the round trip being 60 miles. So I acquired a 2.2 diesel Civic (FN shape) from a family friend not long after t...

Re: Decent Recent TV

Yes it was brilliant TV wasn't it. The follow-up wasn't quite as good - Long Way Down I think it was - as McGregor dips out halfway through to fanny about on bikes with his Mrs at the time. Charley was not too impressed with that :D

Re: New iPhones

My procedure for dealing with the calamity that is a change in charger interface / outlet: 1. Oh look my new phone takes y instead of x. 2. Count up charging devices (z) 3. Buy z amount of converters x->y. 4. Acquire currency, fornicate with human females, disregard the constabulary. Just one of man...
