Is there a hole in the side of the recess? I think the official advice is that the gas bottle is stored under in the recess. But when in use, the bottle goes outside with the regulator and hose going through the hole.

I didn't have the chance to reply before pulling the trigger but as a household we've had at least 8 HP PCs and Laptops over the last 20 yrs and all have been faultless.

It wasn't really an issue as those temps were brief and extreme. We also rarely charge during the day.

It's not something unique to the Podpoint as there's lots of specific canopies available for EV chargers now which I would consider if these extremes became the norm.

I've had a Podpoint Solo 3 for about 4 years with no issues other than a couple of occasions this summer when the thermal cutout prevented a charge when it was very hot. It was only a day or 2 when it was 35+ as it's on the front of house in direct sunlight.

With a 2 year run out for those with existing arrangements. I'd previously read it was a 5 year run out which seems incorrect.

I can't imagine normal cover would be available for these cars being flown over for 6 weeks with no MOT, ved and so on. It's bizarre that it happens!

Until recently you could self insure in the UK with a £500k deposit. I'm unsure on the details if that covers per vehicle or per person but pretty sure you only needed to do it once and could then rely on that deposit for future use.
