Re: Your fleet running reports
Alhambra sold as spares, 2014 Citroën C4 replaces it. Wife chose it, drives nicely, was a fair price and is very frugal. Panoramic roof too. Nothing else to report really only that I am well and truly off the evo wagon!

Re: Your fleet running reports
Well, after nearly 17 years, the Alhambra has succumbed to an electrical fault. It took us Dinant and back recently on a tank, despite the fact it's been running on 3.8 cylinders for the past 2 years, but a trip to the other village felled it. Initially, we thought it was cam position sensor, but we...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread
I've said it before, but I've been using the Orange endurance sealant for about 3 years now and never had a puncture I've known about. Heard good stuff about the new Peaty's sealant though.
Re: Tipping
I'm with Mr. Pink. I only tip if the service has been over and beyond what I've expected. I got in a row with my mates when I was about 18 when I refused to tip as the service was utterly shit. They all came from wealthy homes where Daddy would tip regardless. I have the mentality that you shouldn't...

Ahh, that's horrible news. I too met him at ages ago in the Corrado days, him giving me a ride in that, and me him in the Pug. Seemed a really nice guy. Condolences to his family and you guys that knew him as a mate.

I won a Road Angel thing too. Forgot all about it until I sold the business last year and found it still in its cellophane. Think I got eighty quid for it.
Cheers for hosting Matty.

Re: Mountain Biking general thread
I used to love night riding, but got bored of it as no-one in my group wanted to ride interesting trails, but stick to the fire roads and smash out 20 - 25 miles. It's OK now and again, but becomes deathly boring after a while.
I'm strictly a fair weather rider now. Wind and rain can get to fuck.

Brian and Charles
A toned down Brian Gittins from Derek/ Afterlife builds a shit robot. Funny and charming. Deserves every accolade thrown its way.

Re: Holidaying with Kids
If you're not Florida ready yet, I can highly recommend Duinrell in the Netherlands, especially if your kids are water babies like mine were. Fantastic place, and you can rent some great accommodation and have a lovely Belgian beer watching the sun go down. Go direct rather than eurocamp etc. We sti...

...is all part of the course. As a fellow Twingo owner (well, it's my daughters car but I maintain it) I feel I should send you into the new year by picking you up on this. It's par for the course, as in golf. I would hate for people to be laughing behind you back over this ;) Regarding the Twingo,...

Re: Your fleet running reports
My wife is an expert on this. She's filled the Alhambra with petrol 3 times now, always the day before we're due to drive to Europe. Luckily, the PD engine is bomb proof, so no damage is done, apart from my wallet. It usually costs us circa £300 all in, plus a new tank of diesel.

Re: Could you do your job drunk?
My old job, yes. I used to do it often, sat at the computer at night with a few beers designing and cutting the work out. My new job however, would land me in jail.

Re: Drugs, (and absurd job updates)
It's not often you get to say this, but after reading this thread over the last few months, Beany inspired me to do something. During idle chat a while back, my Sister in law was complaining about the lack of installers in the lift company she works for. I mentioned that I'd always fancied fitting l...
