Re: Smartwatch v mechanical watch

Obviously due to my recent health complications it's a sensible move to have an appropriate smartwatch for me - except its pretty dum at being a smartwatch and very good at being a health tracking watch https://consumer.huawei.com/en/wearables/watch-d/ Does blood pressure. ecg, heart rate, skin temp...

Re: Randomness

The genius Bobby Fingers. I posted before about his dioramas of Mel Gibson getting arrested for drink driving and Michael Jackson's hair getting set on fire during a shoot for a Pepsi commercial , so this is the obvious follow up: the Jeff Bezos Rowing Boat. It's nearly half an hour but I promise y...

Re: No F1 thread?

Confirmed to be a 10 place grid penalty for Sainz for using too many engines - that is harsh for something not his fault and was easily preventable had F1 been a little more circumspect about a brand new track that they've invested $500 million into!

Re: Flu vaccine

Got stuck with both yesterday afternoon - Covid in the left and Flu in the right arm, just a dull ache in each that is slightly worse in the right arm from the flu vaccine but otherwise no symptoms, and I'm not expecting any based on previous years when I didn't have any either

Re: No F1 thread?

I've not really followed F1 for a few years but the debacle of this race has still reached me. How do you make such a mess of it? Las Vegas powerbrokers clashing with Nevada state needs to keep traffic flowing - no running on track at all until just before FP1 and very limited running as the roads ...

Re: No F1 thread?

Apparently Carlos’s car is well fucked. Battery, engine, floor, chassis. Basically the full monocoque and pu. Wonder if they will demand to be given extra budget and component allowance as this really shouldn’t have happened Apparently Ferrari have argued "Force Majeur" so they don't get ...

Brawn GP - The Impossible Formula One Story. Really enjoyed it, by, Luca De Montezemolo is still very bitter isn't he? It's fabulous - Keanu does a great job of seeming innocuous and gets great responses from everyone, I especially liked the way the original Brawn team members just light up when th...

Hamilton, backed by Sir Jim. Would Toto let him do such a thing? Don't current F1 drivers have dangerous pursuits clauses in their contracts that prevent them from such activities.... How many fast jet pilots have the necessary cash on hand to be able to do this? Maybe Sir Jim could sponsor it - gi...

Re: Bloodhound 1000mph car

Ex F1 drivers e.g. Eddie Irvine, Jenson Button etc surely have the cash and talent - not to mention corporate contacts to get someone big onboard to sponsor the net carbon zero aim of the project now...... Would seem a logical fit, rather than some hedge fund manager or someone who was wise enough t...

Had my head in the big magnetic donut today, getting my hydrogen protons spun the same way - now I need to wait for an appointment to discuss whatever they've found/get some kinda all clear. Glad to read progress is being made. What medication have you been put on for your seizures ? Levitiracetam (Keppra) 1000mg 2x per day but that will be temporary (hopefully) as I don't have epilepsy, I do however now know I have residual damage from the Endocarditis I had 16 years ago as lesions in...
