Re: Beer Fred

@ZedLeg it starts out quite hoppy on the palate with some bitterness. That quickly fades, leaving not much flavour behind. It isn't unpleasant, but too bland for my liking. Won't buy again.

Almost feel like a low fizz sparkling water with a faint beer flavour.

Re: EV Thread

It's pretty stupid to build your economy on offshoring almost all manufacturing to china then complain that it's hurting your economy tbh. Yeah, so best give up then. Dave! I'm not sure that's what he's saying. Interestingly when it comes to military stuff they're quite happy propping up companies ...

ZedLeg wrote: Thu May 16, 2024 4:03 pm I'd be interested in an update if anyone finds a low alc beer they like tbh. I don't have them often but sometimes you just crave that taste.
The Lucky Saints are decent. Have a Mikeller to try tonight, will report back.

Re: The House Projects Thread

We've had the render repaired and painted on the side of the house. I'll paint the bits on the back, give the rest a clean, and replace the vent grille for the cooker hood as that's falling apart. Unfortunately the porch is in a rather sorry state, and I can't put off doing something about it anymore.

The only repeat from earlier is a Famille Bougrier Sauvignon Blanc that is lovely and easy to drink.

Re: The Wine Thread

I've unpacked 28 bottles of wine, two bottles of French cidre, and 18 beers

That'll last us quite a while.

The Wine Thread

I also started the beer thread. Don't judge me.

@Explosive Newt: as requested.

I'll update with what we bought when I get a chance to open the cases.

What is the wine?

Also, where's the autotrader link to SJ's Bentley?
Not opened the boxes yet, my wife ordered, but they're mixed cases plus a couple of extra favourites. Definitely some Malbec.

😂 Yeah. And the Cayenne too. I’m not very good at this 😂 When you ask a question already knowing the answer... That would be a great concept - "Let's give Steve a box of wine, load up eBay and an PayPal account with £5k in it. Come back tomorrow morning to find out what he's bought"...

Let's not forget the merch opportunities!

SundayJumper Garage: wine and spanners since 1998 (or whenever you started drinking/spannering).

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

It must be the mobile network, can't see there's anything else they can use at a reasonable cost. I would ask about the 3G (could in theory be 2G). I’ll have to ask. If it is just a matter of transmitting the GPS coordinates every couple of minutes then the data volume is tiny and I guess it could ...

Re: Menopause is now a disability (UK)

The range of "when it hits" is wide. Early menopause can hit in the early twenties, but from memory (of the training session at work) for most of starts in the mid-40s.

Maybe it is as @jamcg says, a nod to the cars intended purpose.

Edit: or recognition of who normally buys them new, and the extra money that can be extracted from them.

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

Maybe a dumb question - how do trackers work, do they use the mobile phone network ? I’ve never had one. Now that I’ve set up all the accounts you need, RR have sent me an email about renewing the tracker subscription. It actually still has a month to run, I didn’t realise when I bought it, that wo...
