Re: Test drive report

Can you re-lay the (presumably concrete) floor 20mm lower with entry/exit ramps? He might find himself with a need to lower the floor further in the future though - better to simply install a jacking system to painlessly raise the room above this aperture. Futureproofing. :geek: The correct choice ...

Re: The House Projects Thread

Booked a builder last week to repair the render on the side of the house, he told me late June which is fine with us. He just called asking if they can start on Wednesday.

So, looks like it will get done rather more quickly.

Poor Things Stupendous. 8-) Dafoe - chapeau sir. Ruffalo - annoyed me in the first few minutes with a rather questionable accent, but totally redeemed himself. Ms Stone. Wow  , Bravo. Absolutely deserving of all accolades. :geek: Loved the way it was shot : flavours of Edward ...

Re: Decent Recent TV

The trailer looked good for Fallout... fingers crossed... I've seen 1.5 episodes and it's suprisingly good - few mates who've never played the games have said how much they enjoyed it too. Colour me suprised, from the trailers I expected it to be poor. Someone make a Mass Effect TV show! (although ...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Forgot to mention some of the cars we saw on the recent trip to France: Renault Vel Satis, Peugeot 607, part of The Cannon Run field (RRS SVR, M4 comp, A45 AMG, 488, McLaren something), and (unconnected with the run) a well used Lambo Gallardo. Faves were a pair of Citroen Traction Avants tooling ar...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

What are the incentives for EVs? If it is like in Norway that's surprising. But, the area in scope (for now) it is easily avoided.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

It is a very small area to begin with, you can walk from one end to the other in minutes. They've not decided on further expansion yet, that I can see, though it is in the plans.

Re: Amazon and Proximity

The phones tend to mark the apps for "deep sleep" when they've not been used for a while, but that is hours or days. If you just swipe away the app is still active.

Phone companies can track you very accurately too. Whether they monetise the data is another question.

Very caramel and toffee. Don't like the rear screens (always looks naff), but the rest is rather lovely.

Re: Dangerous beers...

I’ve had a very non-dangerous beer today because I was using a chainsaw and driving afterwards. https://i.ibb.co/LJ2ZmWx/IMG-0203.jpg I haven’t had a 0% beer in a years, this was alright and had an ice tea aftertaste. But I don’t think I’d call it beer - more of a soft drink. Meh, will just buy a c...

Re: Why are road trips so alluring?

Calculated that driving to my dad's instead of flying saves about £3-500 and a tonne of CO2 compared to flying. How far is that, and is that based on several people? I did some rough calcs and it seemed that flying would be more CO2 efficient for travelling alone for Italy. IIRC Copenhagen, and it’...
