Re: Your fleet running reports
928 is getting a ceramic coat tomorrow. Noticed the passenger seat would move backwards, but not forwards so I ordered a new switch. Problem was how to move the seat forward to reveal the rear seat bolts. No problem - Porsche have thought of that and provided a 5mm allen bolt that you can use to man...
Re: 737 Max
Looks like the flaps weren't deployed (which they absolutely have to be for takeoff) which explains the lack of lift. Question is - why? Did the pilots think they were deployed and they weren't? Unlikely they'd forget as that's takeoff 101. Also the landing gear is down which is unusual.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Boxster is sold. Guy came over from Liverpool on the train just to look at it, so I knew he was serious. It's nice to have the space back, but I'll miss it. Had some epic trips in that car. Bought and fitted a new front number plate bracket for the 928. The old one was a bodged bit of bent metal tha...

Re: Your fleet running reports
928 - been investigating why the rear hatch release doesn't work. Looks like the wiring to the connector that plugs into the release motor doesn't always work (it does if you wiggle it). It also needs adjusting as it doesn't pop the hatch when it does run. Going to pull the motor and give it a good ...
Re: Trump
The largely right wing media are in no small part responsible for the surge in Reform support. Everyone's trumpeting how Reform are a force to be reckoned with following the council elections when a) Reform have 677 of a total of over 20,000 UK councillors b) Some 500 of those were taken from the To...

Re: Your fleet running reports
and the car reminds you if you accidentally leave your phone in the charger when you get out of the car. Mrs mik's e-tron does that too. "Your moh-ah-bile phone still in the vehicle". This is an English voice that says "Remember your mobile phone that's in the right charger slot"

Re: Your fleet running reports
XC40 went back to the leasing company. It's not been a bad old bus aside from the ropey powered tailgate struts. It's been replaced with a brand new Skoda Kodiaq. So far, I'm impressed. The interior surprisingly doesn't feel like a step down from the Volvo Mate who has a 2023 XC90 was commenting at...

Re: Your fleet running reports
It's been a while but a few fleet updates: Boxster passed its MOT, need to decide whether I pay someone to clean, machine polish and ceramic coat it ready for sale. XC40 went back to the leasing company. It's not been a bad old bus aside from the ropey powered tailgate struts. It's been replaced wit...

Re: Project Binky
I would still have just thrown in the callum dashboard and called it done. That circuit board is going to shake itself loose the first time it goes down a track. Pretty sure they could have used someone like PCBWay to get a proper custom PCB sorted. There might even be scope to productionise stuff ...
Re: Trump
We had booked to go to New York next year and we're looking at other places we can go instead. We booked with Virgin Atlantic, so we're tied to places they fly to or we'll lose the deposit. Canada is the current favourite.

What's betting people shorted the US stock exchange before Trump's tariff announcement and have made a metric fuck ton of cash?

That sucks, mate. If you're looking for a nice, well-maintained Boxster, I can help you out! ;) A nice and well maintained boxster 2.7 you say Indeed. Basalt Black, 70K, heated seats, Bose, rear parking sensors, 19" lobster claw alloys, FSH, coolant crossover pipes done, new rads and aircon co...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Finally tidied up the shit show wiring for the remote central locking install. To test it, I'd used the previous scotch-locks that were fitted be an alarm installer. I've soldered in a fly lead with a 2-pin Deutsch connector and sorted out the wiring so if I need to replace the remote central lockin...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Honestly I'm probably looking about the £10k mark - I got a loan to get the M135i which is obviously still ongoing, cos I ain't the sort of guy who has £10k walking around money. Insurance (who I've just come off the phone with) reckon it's a likely write off, and they'd base valuation of book valu...
Re: Trump
I think what we're seeing is exactly what people predicted with Project 2025. Trump (or rather the people pushing this agenda) are doing everything faster than the legal process can cope with so that by the time oversight kicks in, it's all too late and the damage is pretty much irreversible. I'm no...
