Re: Lego
I've seen a leak of the Model T and that's one I'll certainly be getting. It reminds me of the 1970s Hobby Sets: https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Hobby-Set - which I saw at friends' houses but never had myself. Oh the thrill of finding a big spoked wheel in someone's box of Lego back then, or a ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
You forced me to look on google/youtube : I didn't appreciate that the 928 had adjustable spring platforms from the factory. 8-) (maybe not all varients :?: ) Assume you have a spring dying?
You'd think that but the springs are only about 3 years old. Shocks are about the same. I'll ...

Thanks chaps. Didn't realise how much it was weighing on my mind until I felt a massive sense of relief wash over me when the offer came. One less thing to worry about and a decent start to 2026

Re: Redundancy
Well it looks like I'm no longer being made redundant. Had a call on Friday from my Head Of Technology saying a senior engineer role had come up in the MySky app team and was I interested. I've asked for a pay rise and said yes.

Re: 2025 review / 2026 plans
I've got a trip to Ireland in May with some of my Porsche mates which should be good and a couple of family holidays too.
Sorry to hear if your tribulations Delphi - hope things get better.
Whereabouts are you going in Ireland ??
Thanks mate. We're doing the Great Atlantic Way, so down ...

Re: 2025 review / 2026 plans
Congrats, Zed!
Last year was pretty good with a totally shit ending - found out I was being made redundant and my mother-in-law died (she was only 58).
This year is starting in a bit of a holding pattern - looking after a grieving wife (she and her mum were very close) and there are rumours that ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Kodiaq has started throwing a 'Error: Airbag" message on startup. Booked in to dealer under warranty.
Not had much time to work on the 928, managed to fix a wiring bodge a previous owner had done on the rear hatch release motor that was causing a parasitic drain on the interior lights. Right rear ...

Go hard or go home with one of these bad boys!
Proper DIY review here. Looks very impressive but I'd probably slice my leg off with it or something.

He was a heavy smoker by all accounts.
Had the opportunity to go to an event he hosted at The Motorist and passed up on it. Wish I'd gone now.

Re: Redundancy
Excellent news, Alex! Pleased for you.
I had my individual consultation meeting this morning and I'll be made redundant at the end of April. I'll take May off and then decide what I'm going to do - probably apply at Monzo, but my redundancy will tide me over for the rest of the year so I can take ...

There was a time when he was one of the more popular royals too. Served in the Falklands War, shagged Koo Stark etc.

Re: Car Hire Lottery
Someone recently drove into the back of the Kodiaq (minor bumper damage). As it was a non-fault accident there was no excess to pay and we were promised a loan car "of equivalent spec", so I'm expecting a Tiguan or maybe a Q5. I actually got a fully loaded, every option ticked, murdered out Volvo XC ...

Or the Nardone 928, which has actually grown on me and is what I'd choose for that sort of money over the Esprit oneRobYob wrote: Fri Oct 03, 2025 9:45 am At least they didn't commit the unforgivable sin of deleting the pop-up lights like that Diablo restomod.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Final trip of the year down to Oxford for the 928.org annual meetup this weekend.
928 performed superbly over a 1200 mile trip to the Scottish Highlands - never missed a beat. I gave it a check over before I went and found that number 7 plug lead was full of green crusties and number 8 wasn't much ...

Well that happened quicker than I anticipated. Had a call this morning entitled "Important Business announcement". My role is at risk. Just under half of the Senior Engineers are going. They started off the call saying they were investing loads and then turned around and said "These roles are at ...
