Re: Decent car YouTubes
Strangely, the best and usually cheapest place to buy genuinely Porsche parts is your local OPC, especially if you ask for "club discount". Most stuff for the 928 is special order from Germany but it generally only takes 3-5 days. Rose Passion in France have most things too but their insistence on ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
So after a lot of fucking about, I've failed to get the sub working. The head unit is outputting a signal, but the amp doesn't seem to want to drive the sub. I suspect the amp might be duff. Fired an email off to the supplier to see what they have to say.

Re: Decent car YouTubes
Yeah, I tried to convince myself of that too, but things like two week turnarounds on ECU repairs, older fuel injection systems, etc make me nervous.
That and now, a 944 might feel like a slower, less practical Z4C.
I'll probably still keep looking at them though

Re: Parents car you hated most as a kid
It wasn't hated, just the bottom of the pile, the Austin Montego Estate. It's ownership was sandwiched between Cortina/Granada estates and then some Carlton estates after that, but the Montego always felt like the lame duck amongst all of those. I think it was dark blue. Dad bought it at auction ...

Re: Parents car you hated most as a kid
My dad was famous for buying utterly shit cars in woeful condition that he'd work on, fix up (with my help) and when it was something like decent (or as decent as it could be) he'd sell it on and buy another woeful shitbox. Low lights include :

Re: Decent car YouTubes
I have similar feelings about 944 S2s
There was one going in Scarborough for about two grand back when I had the Puma, needed the sills welding but otherwise looked OK. Should have just got a loan and bought the fucker.
They're not *mad* money now but they're not cheap - and they're definitely ...

I remember looking at both of these in the early 2000's. Almost bought the Skyline (in gun metal grey) for £5995 but rejected it as the boot was too small for a pushchair  . The Honda was £12K and would have had to have been financed as it would ...

Spotted this in Tenerife while I was on holiday and totally forgot to post when I got back.
When was the last time you saw one of these?
Re: Trump
Kinda putting that aside on what Starmer did or didn’t do and looking at the state of the UK Navy. What the actual fvck happened there. We’ve had 2 years of the cunts telling us to get battle ready and the government did nothing themselves. Apparently we spend 50% more on the armed forces than ...

It's a space saver, unique to the 928 and very much NLA!Matty wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 4:04 pm
If only there was a method to replace tyres, maybe get new ones....oh well, a man can dream though. A man can dream...![]()

Re: Your fleet running reports
Wheel well subs are fairly common now, especially on the VAG side. The Up has a "Beats Audio" upgrade which includes it....problem is, you can now longer fit a spare wheel, and on our British roads, I know which I'd rather have....
The Bose sub will fit nicely inside the space saver spare wheel ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
They're pretty cheap on eBay. Just search for Nissan Murano Bose Subwoofer (My model number is Bose 28170 CA10A). There are some that have an amp built in - the letters and numbers at the end are different.V8Granite wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 11:58 am I did not know this type of subwoofer was a thing!!
I now need one!!

Re: Your fleet running reports
Heater on the 928 is fixed. All it took was re-working the vacuum lines for the HVAC along with the flappy intake valve that opens at 4k rpm. It's also highlighted that the vacuum actuator for the comb flap is fucked. I'll need to take out the centre console to get access to it, but fortunately ...

I've seen a leak of the Model T and that's one I'll certainly be getting. It reminds me of the 1970s Hobby Sets: https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Hobby-Set - which I saw at friends' houses but never had myself. Oh the thrill of finding a big spoked wheel in someone's box of Lego back then, or a ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
You forced me to look on google/youtube : I didn't appreciate that the 928 had adjustable spring platforms from the factory. 8-) (maybe not all varients :?: ) Assume you have a spring dying?
You'd think that but the springs are only about 3 years old. Shocks are about the same. I'll ...

Thanks chaps. Didn't realise how much it was weighing on my mind until I felt a massive sense of relief wash over me when the offer came. One less thing to worry about and a decent start to 2026

Re: Redundancy
Well it looks like I'm no longer being made redundant. Had a call on Friday from my Head Of Technology saying a senior engineer role had come up in the MySky app team and was I interested. I've asked for a pay rise and said yes.

I've got a trip to Ireland in May with some of my Porsche mates which should be good and a couple of family holidays too.
Sorry to hear if your tribulations Delphi - hope things get better.
Whereabouts are you going in Ireland ??
Thanks mate. We're doing the Great Atlantic Way, so down ...
