Or the Nardone 928, which has actually grown on me and is what I'd choose for that sort of money over the Esprit oneRobYob wrote: Fri Oct 03, 2025 9:45 am At least they didn't commit the unforgivable sin of deleting the pop-up lights like that Diablo restomod.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Final trip of the year down to Oxford for the 928.org annual meetup this weekend.
928 performed superbly over a 1200 mile trip to the Scottish Highlands - never missed a beat. I gave it a check over before I went and found that number 7 plug lead was full of green crusties and number 8 wasn't much ...

Re: Redundancy
Well that happened quicker than I anticipated. Had a call this morning entitled "Important Business announcement". My role is at risk. Just under half of the Senior Engineers are going. They started off the call saying they were investing loads and then turned around and said "These roles are at ...

He believed empathy was a bad thing, and he publicly stated that a few gun deaths a year were worth it for the right to bear arms. So respecting his own beliefs I will not give a shit about his passing.
Feel for his wife and kids but basically 1000% this.
Of course there'll be a billion and ...

Ah bugger. Any reason you can think of? I guess they dry out. They're not somewhere where water can get to are they?
Just an old MAF - 38 years old and 130000 miles. I sent the MAF off to Mike and he confirmed it was well out of spec and was the cause. The MAF on the 928 sits at the back of the ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Coming home from work yesterday evening the 928 cut out at a set of lights just off the motorway. Restarted it and it fired up but definitely didn't sound or feel right. It kept surging the revs at idle up to 3K and was running really rich. Managed to limp the car home. It would idle roughly, light ...

I'm not sure why anyone needs four 968CS's, but this is quite an interesting vid.
At 9mins30 they even have a brief Cup1 vs Cup2 discussion to satisfy @Marv and I

There’s a chap on YouTube ‘restoring’ one with an alfasud engine. Hudson autos or something similar.
Well, he doesn’t usually restore, more like gets kind of running, cleans out the rats nests, paints with a roller and adds some stickers.
I think they’re awful, but also kind of cool by being so ...

It's fortunate that BMW don't fit control modules on the floor of the chassis like many others do!
Common issue for Porsche Boxsters is people not cleaning the front and rear drain holes regularly which causes water to enter the cabin and pool under the passenger seat where the Body Control ...

He was instrumental in creating an entire genre of music (one of the broadest and most diverse at that). Very few people can claim that.
More than a bit sad to read it. RIP Oz.

I remember when Autotrader was print only and when you placed an ad, a bloke would come out and take photos of your car.

Thanks. It was yesterday.
Interview went well, good conversation, he seemed to like what I was saying and agreed with lots of my points. They're looking to move fast, so hopefully know something next week.

@Delphi What's the reason for all this cutting? Efficiency or the economy?
This is all Comcast's doing, things changed as soon as they took over. They're all about saving money. The office I'm based at in Leeds has 3 floors - the first floor is a call centre, the other two are software ...

It's carnage out there at the moment. Sky Bet have essentially binned off their entire gaming tribe with everyone going by the end of the year. They're owned by Flutter (who also own Paddy Power and Poker Stars) and there's loads of crossover between Paddy Power and Sky Bet. Paddy Power came in ...

Re: Would you alter your tyre sizes?
The rears on the 928 are a rare size (245/45/16) but I wouldn't fuck about with using different tyre sizes - If I'm batting down the autobahn at over 140mph, I don't want any scary surprises (or a potential fiery death). I know my knowledge limitations and if Porsche's chassis engineers dictated ...

I used to have to cut everything by hand and hated the thought of any woodwork, still did an ok job making some garage doors but wasn’t fun.
Recently knocked up and extension for the side of my shed and with a mitre saw ( just a battery one, nothing big and fancy ) only took 30mins to knock up ...
