A380 is a brilliant plane. So quiet and smooth. Flew to New Zealand in one with Emirates and it was excellent.

Re: Parky
Fun fact - Parky could have been my uncle. He was obsessed with my aunty and would ride his bike over from Cudworth to Grimethorpe where she lived to try and get him to go out with her. She reckoned "He was a bit of a prat".

Re: US Airlines
Virgin. If you're going to New York, you'll probably be sleeping in the hotel and not much else. Would the difference between 4 and 5 star be that noticeable?

I'd have that in my dream garage in the "French weirdness yet somehow cool" section.240PP wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 11:45 pm Not sure how much I actually want it, but I’ve always liked them for being different and it’s not silly money. It’s the manuel V6 too.

Re: The Holiday French.
We went 9yrs ago and stayed in multiple places (incl. Lyon at the hotel of the former evo forum member as above), one of which was a reopened camp site run by a young French couple in the Haute-Loire. They were lovely people and I got chatting with the guy one night over some wine, and he said it w...

Re: The Holiday French.
Tbf to him, in most countries that approach would be absolutely fine - it's only really in France that they have an issue with it. Not that I agree with him. I was last in Paris in February and I noticed a lot more English being spoken than I previously remember. One of my mates (who is French) not...

Re: The Holiday French.
I’ve only ever found Parisians rude. The problem is they all holiday around now so get everywhere and block the autoroutes from Paris to the nice French seaside towns. I've never had a problem with any French - even Parisians. Admittedly, I speak decent French but no matter where I've been they've ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Went to renew the tax on the 928 and was told the MOT expired just over a week ago. . I'll do a pre-MOT check on it at lunchtime and get it booked in. Insurance is due next month. Ran some quotes through and best quote I got was a smidge over £200.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Odometer gear for the 928 has arrived so this week I'll be fixing that this week. I noticed a small wet patch underneath the back of the car, which appears to be fuel. I've not removed the cover yet, but I suspect it's either the fuel pump or filter. Both are less than a year old, so I'm puzzled as ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Mine's a boggo '87 S4. No such thing as a Boggo 928 when the only car more expensive in the normal line up was a Turbo! Love the picture of your son - just a few decades ago... https://i.imgur.com/MtoEVs3.jpeg Interestingly I watched Risky Business recently on the flight back from Hong Kong. Can't ...

I still maintain that Volvo interiors are far better than the equivalent BMW, Audi etc.

Re: The Volvo Estate..
Public want tall SUVs. As a former Volvo estate owner, I'm slightly sad at this news - although I did dwap my Volvo estate for a Volvo SUV, so maybe I'm partly to blame! In my defence, the new V60 hadn't come out and if it was available, I'd definitely have got one.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Adding burgundy piping is a wise choice, it'll carry the colourway across the whole interior really nicely. It looks a bit like a pick'n'mix at the moment! Lovely car tho! Thanks. I'm not a fan of the colour choice either. It would be too costly to completely change the colour but once it's done as...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Jobbo it's burgundy over linen. Seats are mushroom which I'm not really a fan of. When I do the interior, I'm going to recover the seats in linen leather with burgundy piping. http://gallery.ov9.co.uk/images/2021/03/22/MaxDriving928.md.jpg GG. It is indeed Grand Prix White. He's always up front about everything and he's also donated stuff to people before. He often has questionable taste (that Liberty Walk car was a fucking abomination), but he seems like a genuine guy.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Respray pics. Apologies for the lateness. I fitted the new front spoiler - it's barely visible in the front pic. (which was a bit of a bastard as the previous one had clearly been ripped off and I had to remove some snapped bolts and remnants of the old one). Currently arguing with the body shop ove...
