As I am an up and coming RACE driver, I only drive EXTREME sports cars, including for the daily commute to the TRACK. All those cars come in manuel as a matter of course.

In real life, however, PDK is sublime for all situations. I do prefer the six speed manuel of the R though, gun to my head.

For actual racing activities, I've been using a pair of OMP Carrera mid cut vintage boot (sic) for years now and it's been great.
