Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24

Looks like EVs are now at the critical mass point where they are costing the government and local councils money. EV parking concessions removed from Westminster city council. And whenever one council does something the others follow shortly after. I imagine they’ll be charged Congestion Charge soo...

Re: Jerry can recommendations

Surely the correct solution is to road register the mower and drive it to the petrol station, then you don't need to buy a new jerry can?

Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24

So your Audi will go from £0 to £600 for a few years then another random calculation will be made... I have no issue with road tax as long as the roads are actually maintained, and I still don't get the logic when people say they won't buy cars in the >225 tax bands - the difference is two tanks of ...

I assume he means the glue gun kit, which I am certain works, but only on one panel shape/thickness/rigidity.

Chipping/scratching glass and creating more dents is generally the result of an amateur tries!

Re: Selling Cars Privately

I've lowballed people - but I usually do it early doors so not to waste their time, and also with reason; like giving comparitive dealer prices, what it's worth p/x and how I've settled on it where I am. I've had it work in the past, and in fact, very recently (although I still rejected the car!) B...

I assumed this was going to be about making sure you got a bowl of All Bran in the morning. I think that's more exciting than talking about internet speeds! I live near London Bridge, about 5 min walk from the Shard, and the max speed in my building is 70Mb, so countryfolk have no reason to complai...

Re: Damn London tourists and nasties.

Sounds like standard tourist hotspots in London behaviour - the pickpocketing and petty crime levels seem to have increased though, definitely in the shops, they're facing unprecedented levels of theft and abuse. I think the phone theft by guys all dressed in black riding black derestricted electri...

Re: Confessions of a younger driver.....

Having spent time in the motor trade I have a reasonable number of stories, some of which might involve myself and/or colleagues. On a particularly quiet Sunday at a dealership the only to people on-site might have shut up shop and switched the CCTV off, taken the immaculate 3 year old Quattroporte ...

First gen c class Mercs used to be cheap to insure for young drivers, but I don’t know how it is these days.

Ugh.. CPZ’s are today head scratch. The signs say controlled zone so I stayed away, now looks like it’s fine to drive but not park (I think!).. and modern developments may not be entitled to a permit to park  :? Nothing in our area (SE1 near Bermondsey St) that was built after about 2006 is ...

Yes they have a lot of land but if it was sold of, what would happen to it ? It would be bought by Saudi's as they're the only ones who could afford it. This is part of the problem. You never know what the next Monarch will do, but the current one has done a decent job of preserving Cornish country...

Re: Ultima in mag tests?

Don’t remember if I ever saw one in a mag; but I might have forgotten because they’ve been around so long, the original McLaren F1 mules used Ultima bodywork  I've been out in two, but never driven one. The first was a fairly early Spider with about 350hp, not cared for by the owner (bought ...

You’re all being very cruel about Mik’s new car! His crayoning is improving! Keep up the good work buddy! 👍 I followed a badly driven Matt black Tesla with Mik’d tyres on it yesterday. All of them were kerbed so the crayon was smudged. Nearly took a photo but thought the driver might think that I l...

Re: VOIP Phones

I shouldn't really say it as I provide them, but what's the point in a landline in a house these days? I get the point that it often works even in a power cut, but that normally relies on you having a hard-wired phone, which few people do these days (and a VOIP phone won't do this), but otherwise w...

I did enjoy Harris’s dig the other week about the difference between a car collector and a car enthusiast. Right now, BMW have a massive recall backlog, possibly airbag related. When I had the issues with coolant, Worcester had capacity. Yes - my (2002) Compant went in for new airbags last September and I’ve had a letter for the X5 to go in but haven’t bothered doing it yet as the Conpat was about a six...

My parent’s Iseki is now 35 years old and other than the cutting deck rotting because dad stopped cleaning it at the end of the seasons has needed nothing outside of standard servicing.
It cuts a couple of acres and still drives like new.
