Re: Your fleet running reports

Did a trackday in the S2000 at donington a couple of days ago. The freshly rebuilt engine performed beautifully although I was the second slowest car on the circuit, my mate in his 120hp elise was the slowest  Was this the one with endless red flags? I'm amazed you managed to get lap in judgin...

Re: Petrol

It's a non issue till they mandate that super had to be E10, too. It's it a mapping issue, or just fuel pipes that need replacing? The octane rating is the same, so no mapping changes. It's the pipes that rot and the tank as well. Actually that's not strictly true. Whilst I imagine 99.9% of cars wi...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Dan rebuilds Honda engine and it puts out more power, non-shocker 😂 I was surprised actually, I didn’t expect any more. Decat and remap is what made the difference though, the rebuild just means it won’t fall to bits. Can you improve Boxsters? Youll have a big queue  Probably! Never tried….

Re: Your fleet running reports

Another little update, I had a spare afternoon so I put the s2000 back on the rolling road. Since I rebuild the engine I also decided to remove the cat again as i'd felt a noticable difference to the mid range when I initially removed it, but then i'd put a 100 cell cat back in to try and cut a litt...

What is the lap record for an apple around the Ring?
Depends what kind of apple you're referring to.

Re: Your fleet running reports

The rotating assembly (crank / flywheel, clutch, pulley) is exactly half the weight of a standard K20. 30 kilos vs 15kilos. If I'd lost 15kg I'd be post it in the happy thread :o 8-) Were you able to lose much anywhere else? I'm losing weight all over the car, the target is sub 650 kilos. The engin...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Its been a long time coming so it does feel good. The crank has taken over 2 years to get right, but should be worth it. The rotating assembly (crank / flywheel, clutch, pulley) is exactly half the weight of a standard K20. 30 kilos vs 15kilos....thats a shitload of weight to take out of the spinny...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Elise engine going together for the final time, after countless dummy builds / crank's getting sent back for remedial work / recoating / etc etc That little bead of grey sealant between the block and the cradle means the bottom end has gone together for the final time 8-) https://hosting.photobucket...

Re: Your fleet running reports

All done and running better than ever. Oil pressure came up very quickly which was good, fired instantly once I put the plugs back in. Used my pressure system to fill the coolant, took a few minutes to bleed a bit of air out of the heater pipes but that was all. Since I had the bottom end balanced t...

Yep. Tip a gallon of oil in it, turn it over until the oil pressure light goes out, put the plugs in and fire it up.
