Re: EV Thread
Yeah, it's odd given that the CMF-EV platform can have a hefty motor in the back for the AWD ones but single motor has to be at the front. Also: Looks like my mum is cancelling the Fisker order, the car has an overly sensitive driver assistance program which was promised to be fixed in the major 2.0...

38 was end of April 2023. Patreon update that went with that new trailer said "a few weeks away". Somehow they still have nearly 3000 paying Patreon folk.

Patreon update: they're editing episode 39. Will it be done in less than a year after 38?
Oh, and they're selling switches now: https://badobsessionmotorsport.co.uk/sh ... ve-switch/

Re: Car Plans 2024
Since that last thread the Leaf value has gone from £5k over what I paid to barely more than the pcp balloon  Won’t be changing that this year, finance is well below base interest rate so it’ll be staying until the end or when I can VT it (summer after next) unless values pick up again. Stepwgn...

Art of Rally - free today
via epic games. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/art-of-rally
Lovely stylised rally game based on cars from the 60s to 80s. Same devs as Absolute Drift if you enjoyed that.

Re: EV Thread
Yeah, it was tempting for a few minutes.
They must be really keen to get them moved by the end of the year, there are some on Autotrader for under £25k (20745+VAT) as long as they get registered by then.

Go on then - bought. It's my son's favourite Christmas song so it'll give a bit of respite from the Wizzard version.

Re: Gaming 2023
My 2023 gaming is - I've just started Red Dead Redemption 2 (on PS4) I only seem to play games at Christmas time. I'm somewhat behind the times. Only got around to playing it earlier this year, loved it. Want to plough through the first RDR now but hoping it gets a bit cheaper, full price is ...

Re: Large storage recommendations
I like my Synology but for one user/computer all you're really gaining is the ability to lose a drive and replace it without losing anything. It's an expensive way to just have some space to dump things on. WD are still doing a 14TB desktop drive for £226 https://www.westerndigital.com/en-gb/product...

Re: Advice requested - which may be ignored of course
The jump packs are handy to have, it's not always easy to get another car close enough unless you have super long jump leads. They do drain over time though, my neighbour's car was properly dead after leaving an interior light on - my jump pack had been left in the glovebox for ages and was too weak...

Got three of them now including my daughter's 24" hardtail, the prices when Wiggle/CRC have an offer are excellent. The ebikes are great value to start with, crazy VFM with 30% off.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Hasn't felt in need of droplinks but meh, I've ordered a new pair and a service kit. After reading these could be a nightmare, it was the easiest bit of DIY I've done in ages. Took longer to get the car on stands than to get both droplinks replaced. Oil, oil/air/cabin filters, spark plugs done too....

After 4 perfectly clean MOTs, no flying colours for the Stepwagon this time: Repair immediately (major defects): Offside Front Upper Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (5.3.4 (b) (ii)) Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Front Brake disc worn...

Came across this the other day - baja bug meets trophy truck. That suspension is ridiculous.
Re: EV Thread
Mind you, the fake suv thing has been going on for a good few years now anyway, the electric revolution just makes it almost impossible to have a ‘normal’ style small car. It's not just an EV thing, SUVs have been slowly killing off the estate, MPV, family hatch and now superminis for decades. Migh...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread
Yep, I did a BWC many years ago when it was at Blenheim Palace. Silly fun, especially the chaos of a Le Mans start and unfolding. I don't really need one (hence selling it), but I quite fancy another Brompton. I bought a Mous intralock case and mount after the cheap mount hurled my iphone in the can...

Pretty awesome look at the cars of Pikes Peak this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMuGuUUXxNA And mental onboard of the fastest in unlimited class, comfortably fastest even with shifting issues that meant it almost stalled on a couple of slower corners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUw76qz...
